General Electric Range Bottom Trim Channel (white)

This part is the replacement door trim for your oven. It is white in color and is approximately 30 inches long and 2 inches wide. The bottom door trim supports the outer glass from the bottom. The main reason to replace the bottom door trim is if it is cracked or damaged, or if it is corroded and you cannot close your oven door properly. This part is sold individually and is an authentic OEM part.

Range door bottom trim got rusty: a lousy design by GE.
I used a screwdriver and pliers. A nut driver would have been helpful. Oven door is removeable for cleaning and maintenance, but it's heavy and awkward. It has to be laid face-side down to disassemble, so have a protected tabletop ready to avoid scratches. Side trim pieces have to come off to get access to bottom trim mounting screws.

RUSTED TRIM PEICE
REMOVED THE DOOR, TOOK THE SCREWS OUT OF THE BOTTOM AND REPLACED THE TRIM. IT TOOK CARE TO GET THE TRIM OVER THE GLASS ON THE DOOR. IT WENT RIGHT ON AND LOOKS LIKE NEW.

Broken control assembly panel
Took off the knobs and retainer nuts. Carefully setting them on top in the same order as they came off. Unscrewed the bottom retainer screws. Removed the main control trim. Unscrewed the top retainer screws. Carefully pulled the broken control assembly panel out of the wire harness. Reversed the procedure to install the new Panel. The bottom strip had become rusty and looking badly
I pulled the oven door off the hinges and took the bolts out of the bottom of the over that were holding the strip on. I then pulled the strip off and replaced it with the new on. I replaced the bolts and then replaced the door on the hinges.
