One of the hinges broke, making the door sag
Using the Torx Screwdriver, we removed the door from the unit. Then we removed all of the screws on the inside of the washer door. After that we flipped it over and opened it up exposing the inside. We couldn't separate them entirely because there was a screw under the latch piece that we couldn't figure out how to get to. However with all the screws out on the inside of the door, we did have enough room to open it up and access the place cover that holds the hinges in. Once we accessed that we removed the roller tips from the old unit and placed them on the new one. Then we reversed the process. With a couple screws in we realized we had put the hinge in reversed from what it needed to be, so we reopened it and switched it around. Then completed replacing all the screws and reattached it to the washer. It opens and closes perfectly and we saved a couple hundred dollars for sure, as the quote to come out had been a $150 trip charge. Read more...

This lid hinge is a genuine OEM replacement part for your washing machine. This hinge is for the left side of your lid, although it is a good idea to replace btoh hinges at once. The hinge holds up the washing machine lid and can become rusted over time. This repair is rated easy by our customers.

Washer would not run, lid switch broken
Repair was easy. Removed two side panels on the control plate. Removed two phillips screws that hold the control panel to the body of the washer. Disconnected the electic connection to the wires leading to the lid switch. Three sided of the lower cover lift over and removed from the washer frame. Access to the lid switch and wire retainers was easy. Removed two screws holding the remaining parts of the switch and replaced with new. Re-routed the wires through the retainers. Set the sides back on making sure the set all the way back in the frame and fit properly into the plastic strips on the back of the washer. Reconnected wires, screws and end caps. Read more...

Replaced hinge switch. Still no spin cycle. Noticed hinge bearing cracked & if hinge forced into switch, spin activated. Ordered new hinge bearings.Spin cycle still didn't engage. On further examination, observed that hinge was bent. Straightened hinge & worked like a charm. Didn't really need new switch or bearings. NOTE : Avoid having washer door bang shut.Took longer than expected, but each procedure was simple. Read more...

This is a replacement lid hinge for your washer. It is approximately 2.5 inches in length and 1.5 inches in width. The lid hinge is what the lid for your washer pivots on. If the lid hinge is damaged, the washer lid may not open or close properly. The lid hinge is screwed into the washer lid. You will need a Phillips-head screwdriver to detach it. There will be a lid hinge on either side of the lid, so be sure to determine if you need to replace both hinges, or only one.

Benjamin from LAKE ODESSA, MI
The lid on our washer would not close fully or stay up when opened.
I removed the two hinges in the lid by unscrewing them from the lid and sliding them out from the underside of the lid. I also needed to replace the hinge assembly in the washer body on the left side. I unscrewed the three screws in the back of the controls module and lifted the cover off. I unscrewed the furthest forward and left screw that went down to the hinge assembly. I then removed the trim ring around the bleach pour spout and unclipped the bleach hopper from the lid. Next I unlatched the lid assembly with a metal putty knife. Once inside I moved the bleach hopper out of the way and gained access to the left side hinge assembly. I removed the other screw holding the hinge in place and changed out the hinge assembly. I then worked backwards putting screws and pieces back in place. Finally, I installed new door hinge pins in the left and right sides to reattach the lid. Read more...
