This is a door hinge for the oven door on your range. It allows the door of your unit to open and close without much effort. This hinge will also allow the door to stay open at different angles and hold that position. This part is sold individually and it works for both the left and the right side of your unit. You may need to replace this part if you are noticing that your appliance will not hold the open or closed positions properly.

built-oven door wouldn't close all the way
First, insert pins or screws in the holes at the hinge pivot point. Then lift and pull the door out. Four screws remove the door front(2 top,2 bottom). Two screws remove each hinge. After installing the hinges, put the door front back on. Set the door back in the hinge slots, open the door all the way and remove the factory installed hinge pins and you're finished. Read more...

Oven door hinges sprung on the top oven. This is the second time I've had to make this repair, and I'm wondering if the design may be flawed.
Remove the door. (Two people - the door is fairly heavy). Place on a flat surface to work on it. I used the kitchen island.
Disassemble the door to expose hinges.
Replace hinges
Reassemble door
Mount door to oven.
I cleaned the door and the face of the oven while I had the door off.

Hinges were broken
Take the door off the oven by sliding out the old hinges that hold the door on to the oven. Put the door up on a protected table so that the hinges can hang down and free of the table. This step will make the job go much more simple. Proceed by removing all visable screws. Make a mental note on how the old hinges are held in and how the door comes apart. Take your time this is not a hard task! I am a homemaker, was taking care of my grandson that day and still accomplished the task in under an hour. The repair people wanted $145.00 labor only to install this part! Read more...

Hinges needed to be replaced having been overstrained
I paid for an online advice service (Just answer)after failing to remove the hinges. The advice was not remotely helpful and I have asked for my deposit back.

Here are the steps:

Remove the door: Place the two tiny studs taken from the tongues of the new hinges in the same holes in the old door.
Holding the door just open, lift up and out to remove the door from the oven.

Lay the door on its inside surface, then remove 2 Phillips head screws from both the top and bottom edges of the door to release the front glass assembly. The hinges can now be seen.

Turn the door over and remove four Phillips heads screws to release the hinges, replace with new hinges.

Replace the two small studs in the hinge tongues and replace the door reversing the removal process. Remove and save the two studs (handy if you ever want to clean the glass on the inside)

Oven door would not close completely
Open door 1/4 an slide the little latches on each hinge toward you. This will lock them in place. Close the door a little and lift it up. The door will slide out. Lay it face down on a table and undo all the screws. Do not remove the glass, frame etc. Slide old hinge out and new one in being careful not to slide the glass and frame out of alignment. It is a pain to get it all back together if you take every part out. Just do the hinges. Screw it back together. Reverse the door removal process by lowering the hinges into the oven receiver from a 75% closed position. Once in place, open the oven about halfway and slide the locks forward. This will allow the door to close completely. Note: Three hinges came with my set. Not sure what the third odd one is for. Read more...
