Door Light Switch
★★★★★
★★★★★
14 Reviews
PartSelect Number PS11738900
Manufacturer Part Number WP2149705
The purpose of the light switch in your refrigerator is to automatically turn on the light when the door is opened. If the light does not come on automatically when you open the door, the contacts inside the light switch may be burned out, meaning it is time to replace the switch. This package contains both the new light switch and a small plastic spacer. To complete this repair, you will need to remove the control panel section of your refrigerator. The only tools you will require for this repair are a 1/4-inch nut driver and maybe a small flat blade screwdriver. Be sure to disconnect the power source from the refrigerator before completing this repair.

Broken light switch
Took all the screws out of the plastic shroud that encloses the switch .There only four that I needed to remove, were the two in front where the switches that go,they go in horizontally and two in the back with large washers on them that hold the back to the top of the box that go in vertically. The switch was a snap ( make that two snaps ) the wiring is almost self explanatory. then it gos back to the way you took it off. OH! and don't forget to turn the light bulb all the way back in to the socket , so the light will work after you take the time to install it yourself.I had the water supply line from under the box to the water dispenser in the door and the total bill on that was one hundred thirty seven and a hand full of change.Don't be afraid to do it yourself the savings is enough on one one item to make several months payments on a new one Randy the "Handy Man' Read more...

PartSelect Number PS1957416
Manufacturer Part Number W10124096
This condenser fan motor kit includes a motor, fan blade, wire harness, and screws. Used in a refrigerator, the condenser fan motor moves the condenser fan blade to direct and move air across the condenser coil. Please note: The manufacturer has changed the appearance of the product from the original. The kit still functions the same as the original part. It is an OEM factory replacement. Make sure to unplug the refrigerator from the power source and wear gloves to protect your hands. Also, a helpful tip is to store food to prevent deterioration when the power is off.

Seven year old condenser fan was making noise when it was running.
The process to repair was very simple, I removed the back of the refrigerator to expose the motor area. I then removed three screws that held the condenser motor in place. once it was loose I detactched the electrical harness and removed the old motor. I then placed the new motor in place and secured it with the screws and reattached the new electrical harness that came with the new part. Once completed I reviewed it to make sure I didn't miss anything. I then replaced the cover over the motor area and enjoyed my success in repairing my own appliance with no added cost for labor, which would have been expensive I'm sure. The part purchased came with clear and consice instructions very easy to follow. Read more...

The tunes were moldy and the pump didn't work.
The repair was fairly easy. Take out screws and lift top of ice maker but do not take off. Having 2 people to do this helps. Clean all parts with calcium deposits. Replace all moldy or broken parts. Some parts are harder to replace. The back screw of the pump is difficult to install. Use a magnetic screw driver for help holding the screw. We used a little wax to keep the screw on the driver. The ice maker works better than it has in 2 years. Read more...

PUMP
★★★★★
★★★★★
6 Reviews
PartSelect Number PS16730541
Manufacturer Part Number W11566405
A recirculating pump is used with standalone ice cube makers. It circulates the water over the top of the evaporator plate, which produces a layer of ice that is then broken down into ice cubes. If you notice that your ice maker is no longer producing ice or there is no water flowing over the cooling plate, this could be due to the recirculating pump not working. Be sure to keep the pump clean and free of build-up. This pump is 5.75 inches in length, 4.75 inches in width, 4.25 inches in height and weighs 0.81 lbs. This is a genuine OEM appliance part that comes directly from the manufacturer.

water dispenser started leaking
i wasn't sure it was the inlet valve unit because the leak was at the water dispenser in the freezer door. after some research it looked like the water inlet valve located in the back lower part of the refrigerator was the problem. to replace, take off the cardboard cover, about 6 screws, you have access to the water inlet valve, disconnect the hoses (i think it goes without saying that you should have turned off the water to the frig) replace the inlet valve, connect hoses, turn water back on and you'll be back in business. very easy repair. One of the circulation pumps was going bad and making a loud noise.
I replaced the two pumps, since both were the same design...figuring if one went bad then the other would soon go bad...and then I also replace the water level sensor. All had quick connect plugs. The time is just taking apart the various pieces, cleaning, installing the new pumps and sensor, then reassembling. Read more...
