How do I test the water inlet vavle with a digital voltage meter to see if that is the problem? Water not flowing int ice maker after cleaning.
For model number KUIX305ESS1
PartSelect logo
Hi Mary, thank you for the question! To check the water inlet valve with a digital voltage meter for electrical failure, follow the following steps: 1. Disconnect the water supply line connected to the valve and the wires from the terminals located on the solenoid coils. Each coil will have two terminals. 2. Set the multimeter to the lowest ohms of resistance setting, and make sure the meter is calibrated properly. 3. Place a probe on one of the terminals, and place the other probe on the other terminal. Do this for each solenoid coil. 4. If the meter measures infinite ohms of resistance and the display on a digital meter does not change much, then the valve has no continuity and is faulty. You may need to replace the valve, part number PS11765823. We hope this sorts out your problem!

Hello Mandi, thank you for reaching out to us. According to our research, you will need to check the ice maker bin temperature sensor, part number PS11755842. The sensor on the right wall of the bin often fails, causing the unit to ignore the ice level. Ensure the sensor is not blocked by the ice scoop, dirty, or coated in mineral buildup. We hope this information helps!

Scratches in Surface
This product comes in a bottle with a brush like Liquid Paper. It goes on incredibly easy. A second coat might be needed. I wanted to prevent rust from setting in so I covered the scratches and dings. The paint is a little brighter since my washer is 10 years old but it still looks great.

Water not refilling after initial batch of ice
The water filled on startup (actually over-filled, which was a clue). After that water was used to make ice, no new water came in so the recirculation pump just made whining noises in the mostly empty reservoir. Since water could come in (on start up) I reasoned it wasn't the water inlet valve, and everything else suggested the ice maker was getting inaccurate info about how much water was in the reservoir. Turns out, the water recirculation pump has a water level sensor built in. So while the pump itself still functioned, the water level sensor inside had gone bad. Replacing the pump fixed the issue. There are videos online that show how to accomplish that, but it was pretty straight-forward. The dis-assembly was sometimes irritating because it's hard to see and maneuver around inside. It'll help if you put the machine closer to eye level. Pay close attention to videos that show the disassembly because there are a couple of tabs that are hard to find.
