Ice maker will not stop making ice when it should automatically.
Please advise!
For model number KUIX505ESS2
Hello Ronnie, Thank you for your inquiry. We have researched your model and the most likely causes are the ice bin sensor or the control board. We first recommend checking the ice bin sensor to make sure it is not blocked or clogged with buildup. You can test it with a multimeter to see if it is working properly. If it tests as good, then it may be one of the control boards, so you first want to check for any loose wiring connections or damage to the boards. If you see any damage to the boards or wiring, then replace them. Good luck with your repair.

I was given this unit, they said that all the ice had melted and was full of water one morning. Curious what the issue might be. I'm thinking coil or condenser unfortunately.
For model number KUIX505ESS2
Hello Glen, thank you for reaching out. We have researched the model and would recommend checking the temperature sensor, part number PS11755842. It monitors the temperature in the ice maker bin and sends the temperature reading to the electronic control board. Also, check the control board, part number PS12346592, for continuity using a multimeter. If the problem remains, the issue might be with the condenser fan motor, part number PS12741612, or the condenser, part number PS11740330, itself. We hope this information is useful!

Our unit will not power on at all. The outlet is fine.
For model number KUIX505ESS2
Hi Carol,
Thank you for your question. If the ice maker is not powering on, check and see if the circuit breaker has tripped. Make sure also that the drain hose is not kinked and that the drain hose is not too long. Make sure that the drain hose does not exceed 9 feet above the pump outlet and that it is no more than 30 feet from the pump location as this can low ice production and power issues. Also, make sure that the water supply to the ice maker is completely turned on and that the water pressure is between 30 and 120 PSI. We hope this helps!

Ice maker is not making ice. Found the diagnostic sheet for service techs. Ran through all of the manual diagnostics. No errors. The UI software blinked 7 times which is supposed to be a numeric value for major but I don't know what that means and ACU blinked 2 times for major....
For model number KUIX505ESS2
Hi Carla, Thank you for reaching out. The ACU blinking twice typically indicates a water supply issue. We suggest checking the waterlines for a blockage and test the Water Inlet Valve to make sure it is operating and sending water and enough water to fill the Ice Mold. Make sure the Filter is changed at least every 6 months and is installed correctly and there is a good water pressure to the appliance. We hope this solves your problem!

Scratches in Surface
This product comes in a bottle with a brush like Liquid Paper. It goes on incredibly easy. A second coat might be needed. I wanted to prevent rust from setting in so I covered the scratches and dings. The paint is a little brighter since my washer is 10 years old but it still looks great.

Water not refilling after initial batch of ice
The water filled on startup (actually over-filled, which was a clue). After that water was used to make ice, no new water came in so the recirculation pump just made whining noises in the mostly empty reservoir. Since water could come in (on start up) I reasoned it wasn't the water inlet valve, and everything else suggested the ice maker

was getting inaccurate info about how much water was in the reservoir. Turns out, the water recirculation pump has a water level sensor built in. So while the pump itself still functioned, the water level sensor inside had gone bad. Replacing the pump fixed the issue. There are videos online that show how to accomplish that, but it was pretty straight-forward. The dis-assembly was sometimes irritating because it's hard to see and maneuver around inside. It'll help if you put the machine closer to eye level. Pay close attention to videos that show the disassembly because there are a couple of tabs that are hard to find.
