Wife dropped a cast iron pan, it bounced and broke the front glass
On each side of the door at the top you will find an allen screw, remove those to remove the handle assembly. On the inside of the door, you will find two more silver allen screws, these release the glass frame. On the flimsy part that seperates from the main door frame, there are two small brackets that hold the glass panel. Remove those using a #2 philips head screwdriver, then using a flat head screwdriver, carefully pry out all the ramaining glass shards. The glass frame will be very wobbly, this is a good time to have a friend around. place the new glass panel in the bottom slot first, then just hold it up, with a helper on one side, and reinstall the top brackets. These fit tightly on the glass, so expect to have to push a bit. now reinstall the screws, fold both parts together, use the silver screws to reconnect the glass panel assembly to the door frame, and reinstall the handle. the glass oven door broke after being accidently hit
Removing all the shattered glass was endless it seemed. hovever the repair was very easy. Even for a very busy stay at home mom with limited handy man skills.I did it and it only took about 15 to 20 mins. once i got all the glass out of the way.I untightened the 4 sm.bolts under the door just enough to fit the glass in and when in place retightened the bolts and done !! Glass panel was shattered
With the help of the PartsSelect.com web site I was able to see and exploded view of the door. That help me determine the fastners to unscrew. Broken Glass On Oven Door
I removed the broken glass and scraped the edges to remove any excess. Then I slipped in the new glass and used the hammer to bend back the edge that holds the glass in place. Your company and website made it very easy for me to find and order the part I needed to repair my oven. Also, I saved about $30 compared to the quote I received from my local appliance store. I had recently found out I was expecting, so had to drop the cigarettes... needless to say I threw a hissy fit 2 days in and sadly our range door got shattered in the process. Luckily my honey was able to repair this with little to no cussing occuring!
We had to make sure every bit of broken glass was removed - then removed the outer cover of the door, inserted the new pane of glass, and screwed the cover back on. Over all, pretty easy. (Especially for me!) Read more...
