If it constantly falls off and will not stay on the shaft by itself, it may be cracked or broken and need to be replaced. This model is roughly 3 inches in diameter and made of white plastic. Timer knob cracked twice. Found out the timer switch was bad.
Removed the 3 knobs. They just pull off. Removed 6 screws on the back side of the control panel. The front (plastic panel then just separates from the back). o it comes free. Before you remove any wires from the old switch remember what colors go where ! I used needle nose pliers to remove the connections from the switch. Make the new connections, mount the switch, put the screws back in the panel. BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING. UNPLUG THE ELECTRICAL CORD !!!

The selector knob is what you use to start the dryer. This replacement knob comes with a retaining clip. This is a very easy repair, the only tool you may need is a pair of needle nose pliers. Remove the existing knob by pulling it off, making sure to remove the retaining clip as well. Line up the new knob with the D-shaped shaft and slide it into place.

I created and printed a label on my computer for use with the time selector dial, which must be set at or beyond 10 minutes, before turning the START knob.

My teenage daughter was not setting the time selector dial, to a point past 10 minutes. When she turned the START knob, the dryer would not come on, because the time selector dial was not set past the 10 minute setting.
My daughter had continually twisted the START knob until it broke. I am hoping she will be able to see the large printed label I put on the dryer near the time selector, saying "Minimum" with a large red arrow pointing past 10 minutes.

Nothing to it. Just remember to put the insert in the knob, NOT on the selector stem. Line up the flat part of the insert with the flat part of the stem and push the knob in place.

The broke of the knob and had to replace the whole mother board and the knob
I had to remove the whole top of the washer and unplugged all the wire to the board. Getting the board out was the hardest thing to do because no screws it was clamped in place. Once I figured how to unclamped the thing without breaking it, it was relatively simple and to only 15 min to button it back up.

Grabbed Canned Air and sprayed inside panel. Lots of lint ...
Unscrew timer - Single center top screw. Tiny threads, kind of wide head.
Unplug 4 wire adapters .. (top/left/right/bottom).
All 4 pin adapters have unique A/B side. Can't mix up.
Reconnect wires, tighten ... Read more top center screw.
Before closing up panel, plug in test with empty tumble to confirm if dryer heats up. (Gas Dryer).
