8046 - Instructions

Replaced drain pump. It helped some but still hear some squealing. I suspect the main pump might be worn as well. The drain pump did have some "looseness" to it compared to the new part.

After 15 minutes of frustration and back breaking I removed the oven door and had much better access to the panel, from there on it was all down hill.

The door seal comes off easy. No need to take apart the door. The new seal fits snug. Make sure the notch on the right side of the door seal is installed to the right side of the bottom of door

Removed old spray arm, fitted new spray arm. VEry easy. Sorry I didn't do it months ago

I took the bottom parts out. This can basically be done without tools. You need a phillips to unscrew 3 screws to remove the stem. Then easily replace with the new one. Read more nda hard and twisted the right way (figure out which way needs to be twisted before hand by looking through the bottom of the stem).

Unplugged dishwasher, removed the 2 wires clipped to the heating element, removed both cracked nuts, replaced with new nuts from PartSelect, clipped on wires, plugged in and did a test cycle. Based upon service quote from Best Buy, I saved myself $125.00 for just the call out, not including parts and labor.

When I found the part I needed there was an instructional video on how to remove broken bake element and install new bake element. This was the best video short and sweet and anyone...I mean ANYONE could do it!

Step 1- cut off the power supply (I flipped by breaker, but you could just unplug the oven)
Step 2- remove bakin ... Read more g racks
Step 3- unscrew the little metal plates inside the oven where the bake element meets the back of the oven (reserve screws for new element)
Step 4- carefully pull the bake element out until you have the wires through the holes
Step 5- carefully pull the bake element from the wire clips on both sides
Step 6- take broken element out of over and put new one in
Step 7- slide new bake element ends onto wire clips
Step 8- slide new bake element and connected wires back though back of oven
Step 9- used saved screws to screw metal plates on bake element to the back of the oven
Step 10- replace oven racks
Step 11- restore power to range
Step 12- enjoy a working oven and feel like an absolute PRO for fixing it yourself!!!!

When I pulled the element out of the back panel of the oven to remove it, the electrical connection got caught on the edge of the hole in the panel and disappeared back into the oven insulation. It was difficult to find and pull it back out to reinstall it on the new element.

Removed screws on the sides and front.
Labeled the wire sets connected to the front control panel.
Gently lifted up the stove top and flipped it over on to a towel.
Removed the piece of metal holding down the burner.
Disconnected the cables to the old burner.
Repeated steps above in reverse.

First I removed the bottom dish rack to gain access to the spray arm. I proceeded by pulling straight up on the bottom spray arm, it disconnected with gentle force. The replacement part was not identical, so I determined that it would work by inspecting hole patterns and heat shield configuration. Then I gently pushed the new spray arm ... Due to extremely fast ground shipping (less than 20hrs from order to my door) the repair was done within 24 hrs! Boy...was my wife pleased!

It was a little difficult by my self an extra hand would of made it much easier.I unscrewed the screws pulled the wires from the back of the oven which took a few minutes.I am not great at fixing things but once I got the old one out it went smoother than I expected.it took about 25-30 minutes with an extra hand could have made it 10 minu ... First I unpluggd the range and removed the back cover using a nut driver. Then I removed the knob by pulling (using a little force),Not very hard to do. Read more t them to the new switch. finally I finished the installation by reversing all the steps. Total time to install the switch took approximately 5(five) minutes.

Well, I actually was unable to make a repair.
Initially I inspected the door gasket and it appeared to be hardened, so i thought a new gasket would fix the problem.

Removed back off of stove. Removed two screws that held in the switch, removed the wires that were connected to the switch and replaced the part.

I removed the bottom front of the unit, removed broken friction cable, hooked the new friction cable to the door, attached the cable to the spring, then reattached the spring in the hole provided in the back frane of the unit... Dissappointing how cheaply made these parts are, the dishwasher is just over 1 year old, these friction cables ... Read more should be made to last longer....
