I turned the power off at the circuit breaker. I then took the access panel off the dishwasher at the bottom. I pulled the wire off the connector. pulled oven out, unplugged, unscrewed element attachment to the back of the oven (from the inside). element did not work. we tested the upper element and that did not work either. the burst of sparks, heat and flame from the shorting of the original element caused damage to the computer board. we called a local repair man to change the

Remove Phillips head screws on inner part of door panel. Pull door cover up and remove face panel. Remove torx head screws from inner side of door and remove control panel. Remove two torx screws retaining door latch mechanism. Remove and replace two wiring harnesses from old latch to new latch noting polarity. I tall new latch using two

Took upper back off ( 6 screws), chech to be sure was right switch, pulled spade clip wires of, put on new switch, checked to see that it worked, replace cover.

Latch broke. and it wouldn't run without locking. As a trucker's wife it's up to me to fix whatever breaks or do without. I took apart the door, noticed the model number, and ordered the part. it was easy., it was harder to go thru Thanksgiving and wash dishes by hand.

2 1/4 inch screws and 2 blade connectors fir the power. Took me longer to find my nutdriver than the repair.

th new spring to ensure proper spring placement. No actual tools needed as spring rests on a bracket attached to door and other end of spring goes through hole in bottom of dishwasher rack. open door to test for tension as there are several holes to choose from. .
