water fill overflows at times
thought it could be due to the overfill control switch,so ordered one and replaced one in the washer. However, it did not solve the problem. Having a repair company coming to look at the dishwasher. Tipped the washer on its back and switch was readily accessable. Only had to open plastic covering over the switch, disconnect the wires and install new switch and reconnect the wires. Read more...

Door Switches and Holder Assembly
★★★★★
★★★★★
(10)
PartSelect Number PS2099645
Manufacturer Part Number 99002254
This part senses when the dishwasher door is closed so the cycle can start, and prevents it from starting if the door is not closed. If the dishwasher will not start or will not close, you may need to replace the door switches and holder assembly, also known as the door latch assembly. The dishwasher will not start if this part is defective. It includes two switches and the holder, this part does not include the handle or screws. Tools needed are T20 torx driver, needle nose pliers, and 1/4 inch nut driver. This is a genuine OEM part that is sourced directly from the manufacturer.

dishwasher quit halfway thru a wash cycle
first I noticed that the dishwasher wasn't making any noise. Then I saw that there were no lights on the control panel. I opened the door and found water dripping off everything... I closed the door and tried hitting every button I could see, nothing happened. I checked the breaker, it was ok, and since I did all the wiring myself, I knew that was ok too. So I pulled off the upper panel of the front door and got out the electrical schematic that came with the washer.
first stop, the TCO, the thermal cutoff, it's like an inline fuse. I got 120 volts going in and nothing coming out. Did an ohm check and it was open.
Found it locally and replaced it. Now I've power to the control panel but the washer still doesn't work
because the micro switch in the handle is broken and that turns out to be the original problem...
the stupid plastic handle broke the micro-switch which shorted the TCO...

Float Switch Kit

PartSelect Number PS557009
Manufacturer Part Number 8193506
This kit includes the switch, lever, seal and standpipe. Water that fills your dishwasher lifts the float, and when it reaches a certain level, the float acts as a trigger for the float switch. The float triggers the switch to shut off, thereby shutting off the flow of water into the dishwasher.

Dishwasher leaked under right front corner. Discovered that overflow(float switch) was either sticking allowing fill to overflow or rubber gasket was deteriorated allowing water to leak through mounting hole.
Removed mushroom shaped float cover by simply pulling up. Cover simply slide down into switch which is mounted through the floor of the tub. Using an adjustable wrench loosened and removed plastic fastening nut allowing removal of switch assembly from below. Disconnected two wires from switch and attached replacement assembly, reinserted in mounting hole, reattached nut from top, reinserted float cap and job done! The only tricky part is that the switch needs to be mounted inside assembly, wires connected and snapped shut before reinserting. Not difficult once you figure it out, Also need to make sure rubber washer is inserted on the overflow tube before reinstalling. Keep track as you remove and simply reverse the order. Tried to obtain part locally and was told it would be 6-10 days before delivery. Order from Part select arrived in 2 days. Read more...

Broken latch on dishwasher prevented operation
Photograph or diagram how the wires connect to the switches before taking out the old assembly. I could have salvaged switches from the old assembly by pulling out the white pins (and avoided buying the new switch kit). There's only one way the pieces go back together, so the wire connections are the only point that required special care and attention. Read more...

leak in front right corner
I had to remove the 4 screws holding the toe panel. Then I had to take out the one screw holding the floater switch housing in place. It snapped open to release the floater and that just lifted out. I put the new float in and snapped the new housing on. I put the screw back in to hold the housing in place attached the two wires to the switch and put the toe panel back on. It was all very easy to do and my first home repair went very well. thank you. Read more...

Dishwasher wouldn't stay on without pushing on door due to faulty switch.
Removed plastic lining from dishwasher door with torx screwdriver, then removed screw holding door latch assembly in place. Removed existing switch from door latch assembly and replaced.

This switch was not the correct one initially as it was a normally closed switch, whereas the existing switch was a normally open. Was able to pry open the switch and switch the contacts to normally open so it worked out in the end. Would recommend purchasing the complete latch assembly w/ switches if you aren't comfortable taking the switch apart.

dishwasher tub overfilled between uses and flooded kitchen
Remove lower cover to expose the motor, valves and electrical connections. turn off water supply and electrical circuit breaker. Disconnect leads from float switch. Remove float switch with a single phillips head screw. Replace with new one and attach leads---very easy.

Remove water inlet electrical connections--remember which goes to which connector. Disconnect hot watter supply with open ended box wrench.
Remove water inlet valve from washer wall by unscrewing two sheet metal screws. Use 1/4" socket and 3" extension for this. Use pliers to release the hose clamp holding the rubber water line onto the valve outlet stem. Reverse this sequence to intall the new switch. Moderately easy. Have sponge and paper towels to soak up spills when you do the disconnects.
