PartSelect Number PS11722146
Manufacturer Part Number W10083957V
This is a chopper assembly or drain food chopper, and it is designed for your dishwasher. The chopper chops up/minces the food particles in your dishwasher to prevent them from clogging the pump. You may need to replace this part if your dishes are not being cleaned properly, your appliance is particularly noisy, or you are noticing draining problems. The tools you will need to make this repair include a number 20 and a number 15 torque screwdriver, a small flat blade screwdriver, and a pair of needle nose pliers.

Dishes on top rack of dishwasher were not being cleaned.
1) Remove top and bottom dish baskets from the dishwasher, this will give you room to work. To remove top basket there are clips at the end of the slide rails.
2) Remove lower spray arm by unscrewing plastic screw, it should only be hand tight.
3) In order to remove the strainer cover, you will need to remove the plastic tube that takes water to the middle and top spray arms. Unclip this tube from the top and middle clips and then work it out of the strainer assembly tube. Now you should be able to remove the tube at the bottom of the dishwasher by unscrewing it 1/4 turn.
4) Remove the strainer cover by unscrewing the 4 Torqs screws.
5) You will now see two smaller torqs screws that hold the hold the Chopper Assembly cover down. Take these two screws out and remove the two piece cover.
6) Pull out the broken Chopper Assembly, make sure you get all the pieces!
7) Install the new Chopper Assembly. Make sure that you install the Assembly with the small part of the screen towards the bottom of the housing. Also make sure you compress the spring as you install the part. I used a small pair of neddle nose pliers to compress the spring behind the screen in order to install the chopper assembly.
8) Put everything back together and make sure it works!

PartSelect Number PS11753379
Manufacturer Part Number WPW10348269
This drain pump is used in dishwashers to remove water from the dishwasher tub. If the impeller in the dishwasher is damaged or the motor has been shorted out and will not drain, it is possible the body is cracked, causing leakage. To prevent this from happening, replace the drain pump. The tools needed for this installation are: Phillips screwdriver, 5/16 inch nut driver, 5/8 inch wrench, and a flathead screwdriver. Remember to unplug your dishwasher from the power source before beginning this installation project. Refer to the manual provided by the manufacturer for further installation instructions.

dishwasher not draining after wash cycle
Caviat: The actual repair is less than 15 minutes, but I spent a lot of time playing with it before I figured out it was that easy and fast. You don't need to remove the dishwasher from the counter to do this. And it will probably help to look at the new part closely so you can understand where the retainer clip is to press it and release the old pump.

First remove the water from the dishwasher pan that would not drain with a wet/dry vac. Otherwise the water will all drain on the floor when you remove the pump. Then remove the two screws on the kickplate on the front of the unit below the door. Remove the kickplate/maintainence access cover. The drain pump is on the right about 8 inches in. Using two hands you grasp the drain pump with your right hand and use the left hand to push the retaining clip down. Then the drain pump will rotate 1/4 turn counterclockwise and can be removed without pulling the dishwasher out. There is likely to be some water leak out that was traped in the pump housing that you can not reach with the vac. Disconnect the wire. Connect the wire to the new pump, put it in place and 1/4 turn clockwise to install it. Replace the kickplate and you're done.

Circulation Pump and Motor
★★★★★
★★★★★
(19)
PartSelect Number PS11757388
Manufacturer Part Number WPW10757217
The circulation pump and motor is located near the bottom of the dishwasher. The part functions by spinning the impeller of the circulation pump, which is used to move the water through the spray arms during the wash cycle. Before you begin this repair, it is recommended that you pull your dishwasher out of the cabinet, so you can tip the dishwasher to one side and gain better access to the circulation pump and motor. Be sure to disconnect the power source and the water source to the dishwasher before you begin this repair. To complete this repair you will need a 1/4 inch nut driver and a 3/8 inch nut driver.

Loud grinding noise from water pump
Rather than remove the pump assembly - as an earlier post had done - I pulled the entire dishwasher out and laid it down on the floor. This allowed easy, direct access to the motor (that was the hard, messy part). From this point it was easy. Unplug the wiring, remove the retaining bolt, rotate the motor off the mounting brackets and pull it out. Then put the new one in. That was the easy part (about 15 minutes). The entire job took 2-and-a-half hours, most of which was taken in disconnecting, cleaning up and reconnecting the dishwasher. It's much quieter now. Read more...

Water leaking through the sump shaft seal
First I removed everything off of the bottom of the dishwasher. Then I removed the main center piece that everything mounts to. Then I reinstalled the new center piece with the help of some evoo cooking spray (extra virgin olive oil) I sprayed it on the rubber seal to aid in getting that center piece installed without a battle. Then I reinstalled everything else in the reverse order that I removed it. The evoo cooking spray works wonders for more than just cooking !!! Read more...

Dishwasher would fill properly but when wash cycle would start you could not hear any water spraying.
First I removed the lower spray arm by removing the middle retainer nut. Next remove the 3 screws holding the outer shroud in place. Next remove 6 screws holding the water pump top housing in place. Under this housing you will find the impeller which is retained by a screw. Check the impeller closely for cracks especially near the center hex portion of the impeller. Replace if you have any doubt of it's integrity. Next remove the lower pump housing that has the screen material in the center. What I found was the nylon part that attaches to the shaft of the motor was stripped so the impeller would spin in it's normal direction ( counterclockwise) but under the load of water it would not. So I ordered a new impeller and seal kit with a metal sleeve and chooper blade. Follow the instructions provided in the new kit a reassemble accordingly. Read more...

PartSelect Number PS12069388
Manufacturer Part Number 8193951A
This is the replacement impeller kit for your dishwasher. This impeller kit comes with 4 pieces, including the impeller and seals which you will need for the repair. The impeller and seal kit is mounted on the dishwasher motor. If your dishwasher is not cleaning dishes properly, it may be an indication that your impeller has gone bad, and you are not getting proper water pressure. If the seals have gone bad, your dishwasher may start to leak. If you are having either of these problems, you may need to replace the impeller kit. Be sure to disconnect the water and power source from the dishwasher before you begin this repair. This is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer.

Started with a grinding noise in the bottom of the dishwasher, and then the thing just stopped cleaning the dishes. It wasn't pumping any water,
I removed the plasic inner parts, used the torx drivers to remove the internal platic plate that covered the sump. Found the food chopper cover and removed it. It had gotten a piece of plastiic wrapped around it. As it spun it had ground the teeth off the end of the drive on the impellor and the food chopper. I replace both as a set and it works fine. Installation Instructions
William from Tucumseh, MO
motor noise over a six month period suddenly stop running.
Removed washer from the cabinet by unscrewing anchor screws at the top of washer. But first I removed both dish racks. Shut off power and water to washer. Unhooked water line to washer. Lowered front adjustable feet so I could easily pull washer free from the cabinet. Disconnected wiring from the wall box to allow room to allow for more working room. Drain hose was plenty long on my washer so didn't have to disconnect. Before laying on side, I disconnected the lower and upper spray units. Lower spinner is attached with a hand tightened screw in the middle of spayer. This is a left hand thred. So I had to turn it to the right to loosen. The upper spray unit is simply removed by uncliping the clips from the long flat tube that runs from the lower unit to the top. There is a set of clips in the back of the tub and a set on top. After the clips are free, turn the flat tube to your right to unlock from the bottom spinning unit. Remove and lay the washer on its side. Also before I did that I unhooked the springs at the bottow of the door so to free the door from springing back up after opening the door while on side. Good idea too to have some towels handy to absorb spilled water from the washer. I used one under the open door while on side to protect the door and floor. There are three wire disconnects under the washer that hooks to the motor, etc. There are three vinal wedges that secure the motor and punp into the bottom of the tub. Remove them, disconnect the outer pump from the motor (made it easier for me to remove the unit through the hole in the bottom of the tub. This is a little tricky. Disconnect by turning the small pump to the end of the motor to your left to unlock. The small pump is a little stubborn to losen, but will break loose with presure persistence. After removing, simply push the whole unit up through the bottom of the tub to remove. Now you are ready to reinstall everything in reverse order. It is a good idea to have someone to assist with installing the motor and punp in the tub. I securely pressed it into the hole and the second person press the vinal wedges back into the bottom of the tub to secure the unit. Putting it all back together from there was a snap.
A big plus is the quick delivery. Regular delivery 3 - 5 days will do. I ordered my parts one day and received them the next by Fedx. Didn't even pay the extra for next day delivery. Everything worked perfectly. Just like a new one again. Very happy with the helps posted and service and parts provided by PartSelect.
