This tine row is for the top rack of your dishwasher, and prevents cups, dishes, and other items from moving around during the cycle. If your current row is missing one or more tines, or the tines have become corroded and are leaving marks on your dishes, you may want to consider replacing it. To do so, simply snap off the tine row pivots that hold the tine row in place, and remove the existing tine row. Then, simply replace it with the new tine row, and snap the tine row pivots back into place. When you order this part, it will come with a set of 2 tine rows. This is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer.

Pieces of the lower dishrack were loosing the plastic coating and snapping off.

First of all, I removed the existing lower dishrack. That was a piece of cake! The part that was tricky was getting the spray arm out of the center so that it could be placed into the new dishrack. I finally figured out that I simply had to twist this piece (I think to the right) to remove it. I reversed this step to place the spray arm assembly into the new dishrack. And then VOILA...I just slid the new dishrack in place! Read more...

the only thing that I wish was that the website had been more descriptive of the item. I ordered the two listed because it didn't say whether it was one side or both sides of a split basket. Inserting the front bowl tine was simple though I put it in backwards before realizing it was incorrect. In order to replace the handle, the dishwasher door had to be taken apart with a star-head drill bit. Accessory Rack Pivot Clip

Plastic part on upper rack had broken

No tools were needed. The top rack was slid out as far as it could go (no need to remove from the dishwasher) and the utensil basket was removed. Matching the positioning of the other good clips on the upper rack, the new accessory rack pivot clips were snapped into place. The pins on each end of the accessory racks were placed into the pivot holes provided on the clips and pressed into placed. The bottom prong on each clip was then gently pressed upward until it snapped into the groove on the bottom of the clip. The pivot action of each rack was tested. The vinyl coating on the forward rack of convertible tines dried and cracked away, allowing the steel underneath to rust and deteriorate. It eventually just broke.

After looking the situation over, I decided to remove the entire lower rack and place it on the counter where I could see better. I specified I needed the front tine (part # 24), but received both front and back tines). I used the screwdriver to help slip the old piece out of the plastic clamp end. I broke the end of the first clamp, but fortunately, replacement clamps were also included in the kit. I decided it would be easier to assemble the tines and the clamps first, and then install that into the rack, so I had to remove the other plastic clamp and did so successfully. Then holding the assemblage in place to see just where to snap it into place, I proceeded one clamp at a time and installed it. I kept the new back tine guide just in case someday that one wears out too. Read more...

Rack Adjuster Lever

Wheels on left side of middle rack broke.

Initially ordered the rack adjuster assembly, not realizing that I would also need the adjuster lever and adjuster cover, too. This piece is NOT what originally came with our unit. The line drawing for part 17 shows what our unit looks like. That part has apparently been discontinued and we were guided by Maytag to order this substitution, which is actually a Whirlpool part. Thought someone else might want to know this if they happen to have the same series of Maytag DW as we do. It fits well onto the rack, however, the location of the wheels on the unit are different than the original which means that the middle rack now slides out of the dishwasher about 3" less than it used to, which is kind of a bummer. All that said, the repair was a piece of cake and the hubs on the wheels are now metal instead of the original plastic. . .I expect this part to last a good long while! Read more...
