The probe allows the oven to maintain the set temperature by sensing the temperature and sending the information to the ovens motherboard. You may need to replace this part if oven is not heating or is heating unevenly. Be sure to disconnect power to oven before replacing, as it is an electrical part. Tools needed are 1/4 inch nut driver and needle nose pliers.

Replaced the probe because that's what this site recommended.The oven still does not heat up.

If you notice your refrigerator is too warm, too cold, or not defrosting properly, then there may be a problem with your sensor. The temperature sensor can break from material fatigue or through normal use, and should be replaced. It is attached to the evaporator and control housing in your appliance. It measures approximately 1.25 inches long with 18 inch wire leads, and is constructed out of plastic. This part comes in white, beige. It includes the sensor, with wire leads.

had to cut the 2 wires to the old sensor, crimp the 2 new wires on and snap the new sensor to the clip on the evaporator. Very easy. Make sure you seal the ends of the wire crimps so moisture doesn't get in and corrode the connection.

Opened up the back of the stove. Unpluged the sensor. Replaced the sensor. Replace the back of the stove.

Before you make this repair remember to unplug your range from the power source, and turn off the gas shut off valve.

Oven would go in to a F2 Error
Removed six 1/4" hex nuts on rear of oven. Then through front/inside removed a single 1/4" hex nut to actually remove sensor. Unplug sensor connector, remove. Reversed steps, push oven back in place and plugged in. Tested oven function.

If the temperature sensor does not fit you will have to cut off the quick connect, and then wire together with porcelain wire nuts. Oven would heat up very slowly and not reach more than 325 *F
I purchased all the likely suspects. It was a corroded lower heating element that was faulty. Fixed the burnt out light bulb for good measure while I was in there.
