This inner door glass is a heat resistant part that fits into a stove, oven, wall oven, cooktop, or range as the inner glass panel of the appliance door. The glass panel allows you to see the items being cooked or heated in the appliance. Handle with caution and be sure to use gloves, as the door is heavy and the glass is breakable. Do not replace the glass until the appliance is cool to the touch. This genuine manufacturer part is approximately 20 inches by 10 inches. The inner glass door is sold individually and contains the glass panel only.

Broke the glass panel inside the oven door -- dropped a baking dish on the glass!
Easily removed the door from the oven by releasing clips attached to the door hinge -- very nicely engineered. Removed about 6 philips head screws to allow the door assembly to be taken apart for access to the glass. Lifted out the broken glass, cleaned the inside of the door, installed the new glass, reassembled the door (a two minute project), and reattached the door to the oven. Cleaning the inside of the door took longer than the actual repair! Read more...

This tempered glass is supplied by the original manufacturer and measures 20 inches by 13 inches. It is an inner door glass, designed for use in ranges/ovens and has several purposes which include providing heat insulation, acting as protective barrier, and providing an opening to monitor the cooking/heating process. Over time the glass can break or break from impact, thermal shock, or improper installation. If the glass is defective, it needs to be replaced promptly to avoid leaking, loss of insulation and potential harm to the user. Remove any fasteners or clips that secure the glass and carefully dispose of it. Position the new glass in the same position and secure it appropriately.

Cracked oven door inner glass
Repair was quite easy, as long as you have the instructions for removing the door. The screws that hold the bottom of the door to the fixed hinge are placed into the side of the hinge assembly after removal; this holds the door at a 45 degree angle for easy removal. After that, just place the door on a flat surface and dismantle the door from the inside. The inner glass is contained in a metal frame with another piece of glass; this frame comes apart easily using the clips in each side. The door assembles easily after the glass is replaced; just take your time and give yourself enough room to lay out the parts as you go. Good luck! Read more...

This inner door glass is used in ranges. It creates a transparent heat barrier inside your oven door. For this installment, the only tool needed is a #2 Phillips screwdriver. To repair, first remove the oven door from the range by lifting and pulling from the bottom of the hinges. To dissemble the door, you will need to remove the screws on the outer edge and remove the side pieces. There are also screws towards the middle that need to be removed to pull out the bottom trim. Next, lay the door on its back and slide outer door glass off and remove top trim. For the rest of the installation instructions refer to the manual provided by the manufacturer. Pro tip: remember to wait until the surface is cool before starting this repair project.

Inside door glass broke
I removed the oven door by lifting it off with the hinges. Disassembled the door parts one at time making sure I remember where I removed the screws until I am able to get to the broken glass. The most difficult part is making sure that the insulation strip & the gasket stayed in place after I replaced the broken glass & doing the reverse process of installing the parts together. Relatively easy process as long as you remember where the parts go. When in doubt, I had to refer to the pictorial of the disassembled door shown on your website. Read more...

Range Window Pack Assembly

PartSelect Number PS9493039
Manufacturer Part Number WB56X22160
This window pack assembly, also known as inner door glass, is supplied directly by the manufacturer for use in range ovens. It has measurements of approximately 22 inches by 14 inches. The inner door glass is situated between the outer door panel and the oven cavity. It acts as a barrier between the heat generated by the oven and the external environment. This provides insulation and protection while allowing users to easily view the oven cavity. It is made of tempered glass and is resistant to high temperatures and thermal shock. If the inner door glass becomes damaged or cracked, heat will escape from the oven, you may be unable to see the contents of the oven and the risk of injury will be increased.

Something in oven exploded and stained glass so couldn’t see what’s baking
Ordered window pack from PartSelect then removed oven door from front of stove, then removed back of door and silver backing and glass pack. Dropped new glass into place. Replaced all backing, put door back onto stove. Tip. When removing screw keep them separated from each other as not to get mixed up when putting everything together. Oven Door Inner Glass Broken
This is fairly easy for anyone to do. First I opened up the front (silver part) of the oven door by removing the screws at the top and the bottom. Then I kept on removing the various layers of glass... the 2 outside ones are removed by removing their respective screws and then you get to the inner-most. These 2 inner ones are in a frame that holds them together. I removed the large silver frame that holds the insulation and the 2-glass-frame in it. Just remove the screws and then tilt the insulation frame out a bit to remove the glass frame. You can tilt the entire insulation holder out but the insulation is soft and it starts to fall off. Just tilting it enough worked for me. Then I opened up the glass frame from one end, removed the left-over broken piece of the old glass pane and installed the new one in. Then reassemble. The entire process is very easy - but you will need another person for a few minutes when you remove /reinstall the glass frame inside the insulation holder. You would just need a little help holding everything... nothing technical. I would rate the repair technicality at 4 or 5/10. It could even be a 3 if there were less steps involved. Good luck! By the way, Amana/Maytag wanted $70 or so for the glass and then the repair fee. I got the part here for about $50. Read more...
