was very easy. just ordered a new ice maker which was delivered in a few days. The installation was so simple. Just plugged the new ice maker in and hung the unit on the 2 screws. And then tightened the screws with a 1/4 in nut driver.

The screws holding the ice maker in place were backed out about a turn and a half or so. The icemaker was raised about 1/2 inch to clear the bolt heads. The icemaker was extended just enough to access the wiring harness connector. The connector was released, and the ice maker was removed. The replacement unit extension was unneeded. The w

Fast and easy. Started by pulling out refrigerator and unplugging it. Water valve for ice maker was already turned off due to leaking. Disconnected old valve, detached old valve, reattached new valve and reconnected water lines. Bled the lines and turned back on. Make sure temp in freezer stays at recommended temps for ice making.

This would have been an easy repair, but I bought the Frig from Lowes and I think they added the icemaker. The replacement icemaker uint has a plug on it for easy replacement. My frig was hard wired so I had to cut off the plug and splice the wires. Not a real big deal but a small work space.

Fridge has a top freezer. I unplugged the fridge and removed the lower panel in the back. I removed the two screws that hold the valve bracket to frame of fridge in lower right corner (facing fridge from back). I then disconnected the modular wiring plug and both the water supply and the hose to the icemaker.
