It took longer to go and buy the star tool then the repair. If you have the tools close it is a ten minute repair....

Removed old block , cut off wires , used new wire nuts, heat shrink , supplied with parts , job done lowered range top went fishing ...

Replace the connector and bracket, spliced the wires, put heat to the schrink wrap and I was done.

I raised the stove top, read the instructions to my son while he did the work, then I lowered the stove top, installed the burner, and it worked like magic.

One screw taken out, 2 wires switched, new part & screw put in. Burner like new!

I had bought the 1st set of plug-in blocks at lowes, They were the only type they had the univeral ones! They did not hold the elements plug tight enough and half the time they would have to be punshed in more then they would snap and sizzle- I ordere the newer style and they have done great they are better made and heavier metal parts- ... Read more they elements fit in snuggly and do not sizzle or nor do I have to push the element in. This stove is 35 years old and I have replaced most everything on it. But it's still cooking...

Repair was basically simple. Remove 6 screws holding door facing on door, remove one screw holding handle end caps in place. Then reverse the operation installing handle end caps. The problem I had was that the new a end caps had different dimensions than the old ones and the handle wouldn't slip into them. Had to carve away material ... Read more inside the new caps with an exacto knife in order to fit the handle. The result was a 15 minute job took well over an hour

This the second time in three years the end caps broke. The first time the replacement end caps slid right on but, this time it was an extreemly tight fit. I had to sprsy white greese on the handle bar and inside the end cap and, even then I thought the end caps would break it was so hard to get on.

Cut power. Removed four attaching screws and raised stove top. Cut two wires of existing burner plug. Used existing plug to select correct plug configuration from parts in kit. Attached new plug and wires to wiring harness using connectors and heat-shrink tubing supplied with kit. Used hair dryer to shrink tubing on connectors. Closed up ... Read more stove. Restored power. Burner now functional.

First I removed the one screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires.

Removed door from unit, removed two screws on the insideof the door and open door in two, (inside and outside), removed two screws from each door handle end, replaced with new ones and Bingo !!!

Dislodged screws to oven door to get to handle assembly. Fairly easy, however, new door handle end caps do not come with screws and the old screws were not a good fit. Almost stripped the old screw trying to get it in place. Strongly suggest that Part Select send replacement screws with handle to facilitate repair. Door handle is back ... Read more up but is now loose until I can find/secure appropriate replacement screws and repeat the process all over again.

Cut the two wires approx 1 inch behind old connector and removed one screws to remove old connector, stripped approx 3/4 inch off the wires and connected them to the new wires on the new connector with wire caps and shrink wraps which came with the new connector. Read instuctions first Turn breaker off to stove or unplug to be sure. Remove burner and drip pans. Remove scews holding socket in place if you are doing more than one make sure you keep in same location. Raise cook top untill supports latch in. Strip wire back and place shrink tubeover wires wire nut together heat with a lighter or heat gun then do remaining plugges. place back in cover and replace scews. make sure wire are not to long to get under burner when cook top lowered. Lower cook top and clean burner plug ends with a little sandpaper to make sure they make good connection. replace pans and burner. turn on breaker or plug in stove making sure the burners come on when turned on good luck g.d.

Turned off stove breaker. Unscrewed burner from stove top, took out burner and spill pan. Lifted top of stove, cut the wire as instructed and put all parts together as instructed. Placed everything back together as instructed. I did it myself!
