XRSS665BB (PXRSS665BB0) Amana Refrigerator - Instructions

The crisper pan arrived broken. They credited me back the charge right away, and ordered a new one (July 6th). Here it is July 13th, and they still have not shipped the new crisper pan.

I had to cut a groove in the bushing to put the elec. wires through it, & then just remove the hinge, put the bushing in & replace the hing.

pull open seal lift up release bottem catch push in to release top catch clean disk and installnew seal put back in the reverse of taking out dont take any thing else apart

There is a plastic flapper valve that is spring-loaded in the closed position that prevents ambient room air from entering the freezer compartment via the ice chute. Read more e ice chute and one can reach it easily from the outside of the freezer as well. The Ice Chute Seal has 3 notches that make it very easy to remove the old seal and replace it with the new seal. This can be done by feel. I removed the old seal by pushing the flapper valve open with one hand (from the inside of the freezer door) and could then peel off the seal surrounding the flapper valve with the other hand. Once the old seal was removed I slipped the new seal around the flapper valve. No tools required, no screws needed to be removed. The problem I had with frost/ice build-up was solved; there is no more ice/frost build-up inside the freezer near the top of the ice chute. The old seal LOOKED OK but was obviously a bit too stiff to seal the opening against the warm, moist, ambient room air. I was most happy to see that this solved the problem and that it was so easy to do (really less than a minute or two!).

Take out the elbow fill tube and check to see if ice build up inside tube. Clean tube of ice build up. Replace tube back in. In my case that corrected my problem.

Pulled out the broken crisper drawer and inserted the new one! Thanks so much for your rapid turn-around on my order. My wife was impressed at how quickly I resolved the issue. I'm definitely keeping your website in my favorites list.

The ice to the door has not worked for the last 2 years. My wife complained about not having crushed ice to drink with. We looked at buying a new refrigerator. I removed the old crisper drawer and replaced ir with the new one. The biggest problem was making sure I had ordered the right replacement part. Now I don't have to hear or experience the crisper drawer falling off the track and making that horrible sound while I try to push it back in lifting it just high enough to get back onto the trac ... Remove all door. Snap in new door. No tools required.

The fridge door was easy. Just unscrew top and lift off hindge. The freezer door took longer. But I had the user guide which helped. We unhooked the power harness at the top of the door, and disconnected the water line at the bottom of the door.

Frankly, it wasn't that hard for me because I had my son-in-law do it!

First, remove the plastic cover off the top hinge by removing the single phillips head screw.

Removed the three hex-head screws holding the hinge to the body of the fridge and then lift the hinge off of the door.

Lift the door off the bottom hinge and place on a flat surface so you can easily access the bottom.

Remove the single hex-head screw from the center of the door part of the closure cam and pull it free. Install the new part.

Next, remove the bottom portion of the closure cam from the lower door hinge (still attached to the fridge) by removing the single hex-head screw. Install the new part.

If needed, lube the lower door hinge with Vaseline and carefully set the door back on. (This is the hard part if you are working alone, as it can be hard to line up the hole.)

Lube the top hinge, reinstall, and replace the plastic cover. Easy as 1, 2, 3.

Within a 2 months of purchase the compressor on This refrigerator this unit failed. and again two years later. After all of that, we were pleased to find a replacement dairy door for this unit. thank you!
