RB797AB1AA Hotpoint Range - Instructions

I ordered the part on a Monday and Tuesday afternoon I received it! I went a route I often take first. I read the instructions of others before starting my job and opened the top of the range. There are two screws under the range top in front near the oven door, one on either side, that must be removed. After this I opened the top of the ... Read more range and positioned a piece of 2X2 about 20 inches long at an angle to hold the top up while I worked on the burner. I then used my phone to take a close up picture of the old burner while in place in my range so I could refer to it when putting the new one in place. I then took a pair of needle nose pliers and pulled off the wiring, then removed lock washers under the burner and removed the old burner, being careful not to lose the washers and springs. I took the new burner and layed it along side the old one to see exactly how it would be placed under the glass cover. I replace the springs and lock washers then referred to my photo and replace all the wires to the burner as they had been. Then lowered the top in place and put the screws back in place. That was it. I'm a 67 year old female, if I can do this, anyone can!

The only tool needed was a nutdriver to remove the lamp socket. I needed my head mounted light to see what I was doing, and everything went smoothly from there. Simple job.

Removed the 2 screws, unpluged the 2 wires and installed the new elment

I disconnected the power to the stove and it was very simple, undid the nuts with socket wrench pulled element out and diconnected the wires.I put the new element back in the same way the old one was removed .I am a 70 year old woman.The great part was the element was shipped out vey quickly! great service

I flipped breaker off for electic and confirmed that power to the stove was off. I removed the 2 screws holding the control unit in place. Carefully removed all knobs and buttons and pryed the cover for the control unit off. I then removed old part, removed the wired and clipped wires to the new unit. But after a couple of attempts, was able to line up unit and put screws in place to secure. Replaced all knobs. Turn breaker back on and cooked lunch. Very easy job. Most difficult part was getting panel back in position. I would watch alignment more carefully before I removed in next time. Easy home repair for Women...not sure about my man?

The part was just like the old one and would have been an easy fix except our range suffered from a lighting hit. The clips had melted together. Called a dealer and asked about a new wiring harness. He said in those cases just cut the clip off and hard wire with wire clips,or firecrackers. We used wire nuts and taped all together and ... Read more the oven works just great. Good directions

The original controls were different for the small burners and the large burners. The replacement part fits all. Before removing wires, pay attention to writing on new and old control and replace 1 at a time. The hardest part was being sure to cut the knob stem to the correct length. Control works well.

Removed two screws, pulled old element forward 2 inches, removed two wires. Pulled old element out of oven. Put new element in oven, attached two wires, pushed element all the way in, put two screws in and tightened them. Turned oven on to test new element. Element worked. Project completed.

It took longer to get the new element out of the box than it did to install it. I removed the two screws with a 1/4" nutdriver, pulled the element out roughly three inches, unplugged the connectors and discarded the old element. I did the reverse to install the new element.

The repair went very smooth and easy it took me around 10 minutes to replace part and I was ready to bake again

already had the old one disconnected (spade ends) on old element, new one arrived installed it the same way I removed the old part, just 2 little screws to hold it in place, after you reconnect the spade ends. Then plugged the unit back in. Always use common sense when working with electrical appliances! Easy as the pie I can now bake.

replacement was easy. pulled away the stove from wall. unplug the stove. open oven door. remove the two hex head screws holdings stove top. raise the stove top in the front. supported stove top with a 16 inch piece of wood. place New Burner under old burner. remove old burner remove wires remove old burner and place it on top of new burn ... Read more er connected the wires from burner to new burner. install new burner. remove support lowered top down. plugged in stove tested. .burner. burner w.ork fine. reinstall hex head screws back top. pushback stove back into the wall. testes over again. all the stove work done.
