  • George from Newnan, GA
  • Really Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins
  • Screw drivers
Followed the instructions in the switch kit. Unpluged range glass cook-top power cord. Lifted smooth cook-top out of counter hole. Removed about 10 sheet metal screws around box/glass surface interface. Removed all 5 infinite control power switch knobs vertically. Lifted glass cook-top from element box. Set cook-top aside on edge away fro m work area. Flipped switch control box cover and identified which switch was to be replaced. Noted colors and terminal post data. Replaced 1 wire at a time per the kit instructions. Reversed procedures. Turned unit on and confirmed proper function. That was it!

OMG you have no idea how grateful I am. My husband and I watched your how-to-video and decided that it looked pretty easy for us to replace on our own. We saved close to $200 between the flat fee for a service call plus labor. Thank you very much. We were also pleased how fast our part was shipped to us.

2 burners burned out of flat top stove
  • Lacey from Raleigh, NC
  • Really Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins
  • Pliers, Screw drivers
I can't believe how easy this was to fix. 1. Unplug the stove. 2. remove the screws that hold the stove top in place. 3. pull the top up, unplug the electrical wires and unscrew the ground wire 4. remove the stove top and flip it over. 4. unscrew braces holding the burners in place. 5. with pliers, remove the wire connections between stov e top and old burners 6. replace with new burners. 7. reattach everything. And you're done! Go brag to the neighbors about what you just did.

burner not heating up
  • David from Herriman, UT
  • A Bit Difficult
  • 15 - 30 mins
  • Screw drivers
first I checked continuity through the surface element (burner) switch (rheostat) which was fine. then found the screws holding the burner top on and removed, this made it possible to lift up the burner top and remove the burnt out surface element.which was easy to see. take down the number, buy a new one and re hook up the four wires to the new element. (always mark down where the wires went)
