CWE5800ACE28 Maytag Wall Oven - Instructions

Screwed in light bulb and glass protector

Very easy since it was an exact match to the old burned out element.

My husband took the plastic cover off and took out old bulb and screwed in the new one. Then put the cover back on.

I shopped around locally before shopping online. Parts Select provided me with significant time and money savings.

Turn off power. Remove the element. Installed the new element. Turned on the power. Easy... Easy... Easy...

Removed 2 element support screws and 2 element electrical connection screws. Removed the old defective element and replaced it with the new element reusing the four screws.
I received the new element two days after ordering in. Excellent service!

1. Unscrewed glass cover on bulb
2. Removed old bulb
3. Screwed in new bulb
4. Replaced glass cover
5. Mixed drink & baked cupcakes

I pulled down the wire around the glass cover. . . Released on end of the wire from its holder being careful to not let the glass cover drop. Unscrewed the bulb and replaced with replacement. Easy, easy.

No problems withe the correct part. saved $200 ib servicw cajjs plus $49 on the part....

Couldn't get oven to slide all the way out of cabinet. Disconnected electrical (first threw correct circuit breaker), then slid oven out. Removed applicable parts to get to the hinges. First, we cut the power to the oven and removed the oven racks. I removed the two screws holding the old heating element in (removed easily, I didn't need any WD-40) and pulled the element wiring out of the back of the oven. It took me a while to realize how the wiring was/is connected to the element, but once I did they came off fairly ... Read more easily with a little coaxing from some pliers. On our model, the wiring thingums fit down onto the element prongs. So, you pull the straight up to remove them. Very technical terms here. After the wires and the new element were connected, I screwed the new element in, turned the power back on and the oven was is excellent working order again.

The seal is suspended by metal clips at each end, which are inserted into holes in the oven box. The clips on the new seal were a bit too wide to fit into the holes. so I drilled the holes larger, and it worked fine.

I found the oven model #, and ordered a control module from Part Select. Rcvd the part a few days later, carefully installed and wired it in place like the old one. Well, to my surprise, it did not work. So, I called Part Select, ordered another and I will return the defective part for credit. The second module was rcvd, installed and ... Turned off the circuit breaker. Removed the oven door from hinges. unscrewed the old element connection plate. Pulled off two wire leads. Reversed forward steps to completion.
