AW25 - Instructions

I removed the cover on the back of the machine, detatched the 2 hoses and removed the 3 screws holding in the Vertical Style Pump - with pulley. These screws are 10 mm nut-driver. The cover if I remember correctly was a standard rather than metric so make sure you have both available.

Screwed new part in, re-attached hoses an ... Read more d replaced cover. The last step requires strength to hold the machine up and re-configure the belt. This is best accomplished by looping it onto the tub and the pump first, the using the tub pulley to maneuver the belt onto the motor.

Only discouragement was that it took 8 days to receive the part as the first shipment was not the correct part at the fault of the distrutor.

I had my 12 year old son climb to the back and he took off all the screws necessary in the back and took the part completely off. We ordered the part and waited for it to come in. We replaced the part, the screws and honestly, the only thing we had trouble with was replacing the small cover where the hoses stick out of the washer. Was ... Unhooked the macine pulled out for easy access .removed drive belt rear cover plate ,vaccumed remaining water out thru drain hose with wet and dry vac. I raised the top of the washing machine per video instructions, removed the screws, replaced broken hinges with the new ones. It was simple as that.

Replaced the hose. two clamps and retainers. very basic repair

I used the putty knife to release the spring clips on the machine lid. They are about 3" in from the side of the machine. Then I lifted the top of the washer up holding the lid in place. I then used a screw driver (torx) to remove the hinge from the bottom of the washer top. The lid should come right off. Then I the removed the broken hin ... Read more ge pins from the back of the lid with a screwdriver and replaced with the new parts. There is a little tab that the pin fits in the lid to assure you have the pin installed correctly. Then I slid the hinge back on the pin and reversed the process reinstalling the hinges and closing the top of the machine over the spring clips and your done. Very easy repair that I completed in less than 15 minutes.

Lift the top of the washer so you can access the screws that hold the hinges. Replace the hinges,and close the washer top. This is the sescond time we have had to replace the hinges.

This lid and hinges are very poorly designed. Instead of opening to the side, it opens straight back. That means when the hinges wear out (an ... Read more d they do because they are plastic), you have to push the lid all the way back to stay open. When you push it all the way back, it hits the control knob and turns off the water.

If you are like me, I like to turn the water on and add the soap so it can dissolve before I add the clothes. It is really irritating when you open the lid and the only way for it to stay open is to push it all the way back and the water shuts off. And if you don't push it all the way back, it slams and scares the bejeebers out of you or slams on your fingers.

Turned water off,tilted unit forward,removed lower rear cover,removed belt,laid towels around ,removed inlet hose and exit hose off pump,removed 3 screws holding pump,removed pump and installed new one,reversed order of disassemble, has been running great ever since.

short drive, 90 degree, "star" driver. push tub to side and back to reach lower part of old hinge, remove single screw. (careful not to drop it into the "mechanics" of the tub.) repeat for the other side. remove parts from lid. reassemble new parts onto lid, along with lower hinge parts. secure the lower hinge to door part(s) with maski ... Read more ng tape to hold in place. hold lid in place over lower hinge screw holes and start screws by hand. snug up the screws and your done! the 'STAR" screws may be relpaced with similar "phillips" so you wont have to scrounge for a "star" driver the next time.

Turn water off at the inlet valve of hose you are replacing. Disconnect inlet hose the washer and let water drain out in a bucket. Then remove old hose. Replace new hose to inlet valve then washer . Use pliers to tighten both ends. Turn on water to check leaks at both ends of hose.

I followed the feed back in the forum from a previous repair. Opened hinges top of washer. Removed screws holding hinge bases. Removed the washer top lid and unscrewd broken hinge pin. Replaced hinge pin and inserted in pin base and screwd base op hinge back onto washer and job was done.

I followed the instructions that other posters suggested. The springs were the toughest part to remove and reinstall. Having my wife push the tub enabled me to use vice grips to get them back on.
