No tool required! Pulled out tray, emptied ice into large bowl for reuse. Pushed in and pulled from inside the coil springed auger until could get old plastic ring off and put new one on. Useing care not to apply too much pressure to ice dispensing end so as not to break housing. Have to turn auger assembly at an angle to compress enough ... Read more and get old ring off. I went straight to PartsSelect on line and within minutes I found the appropriate brand of parts for my refrigerator. I simply removed the old trim shelf and snapped the replacements in place. I also inserted the glass shelf trim. No tools were required.

Simply cut the water tube on both sides of connector and push in the new one.

Watched video. Unplugged refrigerator and popped out switch. In plugged connector and pushed switch in place. Plugged in refrigerator and the light worked

Popped out with butter knife and unplugged 3 prong connector and reversed with anew switch.

But, unfortunately it got broken again exactly same way as before.
So, I ordered same switch again for 2nd time.

Maytag should recall that Rocker Switch and build with better materials.

Very easy to order from parts select. Took seconds to replace.

Repair went well,took about five to ten minutes to disconnect the power from the fridge removed the defective switch installed the new one ,reconnected the power,,,and Let there be light and there was light!

The ice/water dispenser was stuck in "on" position and would not stop discharging ice cubes. First I removed the dispenser grill and face plate (2 screws at bottom of plate under grill). Then, I unscrewed and removed the ice/water selector switch (2 screws). Then, I removed the ice/water dispenser assembly (1 screw over actuator pad an ... Then I replaced the actuator pad (just slips over - not screws) and put everything back together. It was really very easy. You just need to get the correct size torx driver.

Referencing the info/schematics you have on your website, I unscrewed/unattached top-front panel (carefully), from behind the panel you have to detach the wires (2) from the switch, pushed "in" the switch to remove, put in new switch and attach wires to test BEFORE remounting panel. Our 20+ year old Maytag refrigerator suddenly started dispensing water one day without anyone near the refrigerator. Thankfully, my wife was nearby; my son temporarily solved the problem by shutting off water to the house. The ice dispenser unit has a "Lock" switch which turns off power to the ice & water dispenser. With the switch in ... Read more the "lock" position, we were able to continue using the refrigerator (and turn the water back on) until I was able to get a replacement part.

The biggest hurdle that I encountered was removing the trim; I spent perhaps an hour and a half trying to figure it out. In the end it turned out to be easy and would have been perhaps half an hour job total had I known the trick. So... to remove the trim on a Maytag RSW2400, you remove a single Phillips head screw on the bottom of the trim. The trim then slides to the left and can be removed.

The next mistake I made was removing the entire dispenser unit. Instead, if you look closely, there are screws which may be used to disassemble part of it, leaving the ice/water dispenser housing mounted to the refrigerator door. This provides access to the ice/water actuator switch. Perform this disassembly and access to the switch becomes obvious.

The switch is held in place with a single Phillips screw. Make sure that you've disconnected the power to the fridge well before this point because, AFAICT, 120VAC flows through this switch! The switch that I replaced didn't appear to be in bad shape and, once removed, the switch seemed to work correctly when I tested it with an ohmmeter. I replaced it anyway.

Reassembly was straightforward and easy. Better still, ice and water are now dispensed correctly again.

Replace the refrigerator lightbulb while traveling 88 mph then turned on the flux capacitor being carful not to get stuck in a worm hole. This allows you to fix the problem before it starts to go bad.

disassemble the front panel removed two screws and panel fell forward took old part out cliped in new one and reassembled very easy job

inserted a knife between the switch and the plastic interior in order to pop the switch out.
then took off the 2 wires on the old switch put them on the new switch and reinserted the switch into the plastic interior.

removed three nuts from the top of the door diconected the electrical connections for the ice and water in the door.
