Diagnosis is the important aspect. Ovens have plunger-type switches to tell the "brain" door is closed, both for the light AND to allow initiation of self cleaning. Finally discovered one of those switches was "scratchy" in operation and unreliable in closing the circuit. (Push the plungers in and out several times and observe the light. ... Read more ) If not 100% reliable, replace that switch (cheap and easy with a Phillips screwdriver.) Initial guess was a $major "brain"-electronics problem but it was merely a sticky switch. Strange since the unit is about a year and a half old and rarely used. Found the part easily with PartSelect, and it came via UPS quickly.

The repair was very easy to perform, but the springs in the new hinge were not as strong as the old one. The door would not close all the way unless you held it closed. The hinge looked identical but spring had less tension.

SHUT OFF BREAKER FOR OVEN! pulled oven out to get at backside,removed 3 screws on back coverplate,removed 2 screws inside oven at sensor in top left corner of oven,disconnected plastic clip at back ,pulled old sensor through hole.replaced sensor with new in reverse order. 15minutes tops.

I screwed the light lens into the socket and went beautifully. Better than the original. (I am a retired, 75 yr. old woman).

Removed 2 screws securing bake element, pulled element clear with wires still attached, then removed the wire push terminals. Attached terminals to new bake element and reinstalled. Extremely simple.

As the probe is a plug-in item that would normally be out of the oven, there was nothing more to the repair than checking that the new probe plug fitted the socket and that it was detected by the oven. Then the old probe was consigned to the trash.

Everything checked out, and the probe was used satisfactorily within a couple of ... Read more days.

I removed the single screw on each side of the oven by the hinge to remove the hinge cover plate and expose the hinge opening. I lifted off the glass oven door up and out and set it on my work bench. The door is heavy because its glass so make sure the doors on the way to the garage are open to your work bench area. I installed the cover ... Read more plates back on so i would not loose the little covers and screws. I removed the screws all around the door and set them in a cup and lifted up the inner part of the door and the hinges are exposed. After removing the screws that hold on the hinges it lifted right out. I cleaned all the glass and set the new hinges in and locked them down with the screws and installed back the inner part of the door to the outer part and returned all the screws back. I then removed they screws on the hinge covers. I did not loose them with 4 kids running around and lifted the door back into the hinge openings and pushed down and it locked in. I then put a little pressure down on the door and removed the little locking pins. I pushed the door all the down and installed the hinge covers back on and it works beautiful. I think the new hinges are better than the set that came with the Jenn-Air wall oven. Thanks Parts Select. Also the new hinges came in 3 days as promised.

At first I called a repairman. He said I needed a relay board replaced but that it was no longer being made. I found this needed relay board on PartSelect.com. Once I received this board within a few days, the repairman returned to install this for me. However, as it turned out he simply removed the old board only to put the same board ba ... Read more ck in by being careless. When the oven still wouldn't heat he said we should try another part. I said no to this. After he left I determined that the new relay board hadn't been installed but simply looking at it. I then installed this new board myself and the oven now works properly. Who needs these so called "professional repairman" who overcharge, are irresponsible and make you wait hours for their "service".

I slide the range out and unplugged it from the outlet. I removed the back of the oven ( 8 screws ) using a cordless drill and phillips bit then with a phillips screwdriver I removed the oven sensor (2 screws) then I installed the new sensor , reinstalled the oven back , plugged the range in , slide it back into place and that was it. Removed old part with a pair of pliers and plugged the new part into place.

Very simple and the self cleaning feature works again.

Sunday, four days before Thanksgiving, our oven would not bake properly. A quick check indicated the top element was not working. What to do? NOTE: I had a repair person try to fix the door problem and he only replaced the HINGES. You need to replace both the HINGES and the HINGE RECEPTACLES to fix the door problem.

INSTALLING the clock assembly:

First I went to the electrical breaker box and turned off the power to my double oven. Then I removed the screw ... Read more s that hold the oven to the wall and pulled the oven out about 5 inches. I removed the cover for the controls at the top of the oven - the clock assembly is attached to the cover - several connectors need to be unplugged to remove the cover. I put the cover on my counter and unscrewed the four screws (with nutdriver) that hold the clock in place. I unclipped the control cable (flat with embedded wires) and took out the old clock. I reversed these steps to put in the new clock. I then held the cover up to the oven and reconnected the connectors to the rest of the oven, I hooked the cover back in place.

Replacing the hinge receptacles:
I opened the oven doors and removed the hinge covers (just over the hinge itself that keep the door from falling off) and lifted the doors off of the oven. Next went to the side of the oven and removed all the lag screws that attach the hinge receptacles to the oven body (you may need to remove the trim around the oven in the process as they may be too hard to get out otherwise). I put each of the four new hinge receptacles back in place and screwed in all the screws I took out before. I put the oven doors back on and replaced the hinge covers.

The oven works perfectly!! Hurray!

Left oven off. Located sensor in pdf manual. Unscrewed mount, pulled sensor out to access connector. Disconnected old sensor, checked continuity(resistance) on ohms with multimeter. No continuity; connected new sensor, screwed mount back into place, turned on oven and baked cookies to check operation & it worked perfectly.

replaced the relay board after trying to understand the instructions. they were vague regarding when or if a jumper wire was required.
