6100 - Instructions

I reviewed the instructions which were very clear and began. I removed the catch tray to access the two screws. I removed those and lifted the front off. Read more efrigerator. The ice door tab was broken, so I really just needed to replace the door, but since I received the other new parts in the kit, I went ahead and replaced those as well. The directions were very specific, just make sure that the spring is inserted correctly. I then reinstalled the unit. When I finished, I tried it but the door would not shut properly. I disassembled the unit again and found that the spring had come loose. Looking back , I probably knocked it loose when I was installing the water tube back into place. I reassembled, making sure that the spring was installed correctly, and everything worked fine.

It looked like an easy fix. the igniter had a plastic clip. A simple R&R. Removed old igniter from its mount, removed plate to get access to wires, removed insulation. Tried to pull the old wires out of its location. It was hung up and I spent 1/2 hr. trying to free it. No go. I thought I'd have to remove oven from its cabinet. I removed ... Read more six screws and it would not come forward. I felt the under side of the oven thru lower door of cabinet and found out that was where gas was connected. No way was I disconnecting the gas. Pushed oven back in, reinstalled screws and decided to cut old wires and splice in the new igniter. WENT BACK AND READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! Supplied were 4 ceramic wire nuts. Then the light bulb went on! OKAY! I got a marker and marked the top wire on the old igniter to identify it after I cut the wires as close to the back of the old igniter as I could with a pair of side cutters. I then cut the wires as close as I could to the plastic clip on the new igniter. Striped off 3/8 in. from all wire ends and spliced the wires together using the wire nuts. I stuffed the wires as far as possible back into the hole they came from, replaced all old and some new insulation into the hole. The supplied cover would not work, screw holes would not line up and would have fit poorly. I reused the old hole cover. Screwed new igniter to its mount. Turned on the oven and thought I screwed up. I waited about 30 seconds before I saw it start to glow. WHEW! I got it right! After a few more seconds, the gas came on and the oven burner ignited. The really hard part was putting the oven door back on its mount. That door was heavy and wouldn't line up on the first try.......
Maybe if I read the instructions thoroughly the first time before I started, I could have cut my time in half and saved a lot of cussin'. CUTTING THE WIRES WAS AN "OPTION"! That's why they supplied the ceramic wire nuts!....... Dinner is in the oven right now. Smells good!

the repair was simple and I not inclined to do these things at all. I turned off the water supply line, unplugged the unit, unscrewed the outlet valve, removed the lines and inserted the new one. piece of cake

Just replaced the old burner knobs with the new !!!

This was not a difficult task. I just slid the valve knob on the shaft, repair was complete. This was a very easy diy project.

I took the broiler pan out of the shipping container and put it in the oven.

Pulled out frig and unplugged it from wall. Took out 2 screws to gain access to valves. Took out screw holding bracket holding valve bracket to frig and removed one more to remove the old valve from bracket. Simple water disconnect with wrench after that and changing the lines to door cutting them back 1/2 ", direct plug in electrical c ... Read more onnections, replacement exact like original. I had previously changed the other solinoid with the problematic Y connector but that didn't do the trick. This fix seems to be the correct one to fix the problem.

removed the plug that had burned up on one of the top burners, replaced it with a new plug purchased from parts select., it was quite easy ,I unpluged stove and raise the top exposing wiring for the burners cut the old plug wiring and connected the wires for the new plug with connectors and shrink tubing supplied in the repair kit easy a ... Repair was a breeze, just like in the provided directions. Removed the trim and wood panels, accessed the door, removed the panel, replaced the solenoid and put it all back together-piece of cake! Unfortunately, about 45 minutes after putting everything back together, water started shooting out of the dispenser and would not shut off. ... Read more All of the controls became non-functional. I opened the freezer door and that made it quit shooting water. Had to remove the dispenser panel again and unplug the power to it. Have not had a chance to trouble shoot further. Did note the new solenoid seemed very warm to the touch. Did it possibly short something out?

I followed the instructions provided.

Turned of power and water to unit. Removed water lines and electrical wires to old valves, tagged wires and hoses before removing. Cut old hose and installed new hose kit. Change from two water lines to one. Remove old valves and replace with new, reinstall water and electrical wires.Turn on water to check for leaks if there are no leaks ... Read more turn power back on and check for water going to ice maker. A really easy repair.

easy, step-by-step repair. replaced all parts that came with kit; no hastle. only issue was that "torx" head screwdriver was needed (which I had).

Replaced the old part with the new one and we're back in business again plenty of ice.

Removed 4 screws and disconnect the circuit board, replaced the broken door and reassembled the unit. Solenoid did not need to be replaced, only the ice door. About 15 minutes and about 90$ saved in labor.
