This is a shift actuator, and is designed for use in washing machines. This shift actuator is made to change the mode of the motor between spin and agitate, as well as communicate with the control board how fast the washer is spinning. If the shift actuator in your washer is broken or bad, it can lead to the washer not spinning or agitating correctly and may even show an error code related to that. This shift actuator is made mostly of plastic but does feature a 120V/60HZ/2.8W motor. This actuator is an OEM part and is sold individually.

Machine would stop at spin cycle
After disconnecting water lines and power, tip machine onto its back. The actuator is located under the drum. Remove the cover over the motor/ drive belt. Actuator is located by the transmission and held on by several screws. Unplug the wiring harness and remove three screws with Phillips screwdriver. Install new actuator.. Read more...

Top part of agitator was not locking in and turning
Remove top "cap" on agitator to expose the bolt that holds the agitator to the drum shaft. Undo the bolt and pull out the agitator. Disassemble, toss the old parts and install the new parts in reverse order. Repair took less than 5 minutes and we can now do full loads of laundry again! Read more...

Water was sprating all over the inside of wash machine onto the circuit board.
I took the two screws off the back that holds the top down, lifted it , then pulled it back to remove. After this was removed, there were two more screws holding down the assy-s housing and drawer. First remove drawer where you add the soap and softners. Then I pulled that back and the assy-s housing drawer just snaps onto the housing. I pulled the drawer off, then I took the four hoses that are connected to the back and put on the new one in their respected spot. I snapped it back on and reassembled.
