not cleaning, spray arms not working
The hardest part was disconnecting the dishwasher. the motor is located on the bottom so after pulling it out and laying it down on the front of the machine the motor unplugs and 2 screws hold it in place. The new motor comes with "O" rings so I applied a little grease and put it back together. 2 minutes to replace motor, 15 minutes to disconnect water and electric, 15 to reconnect.

Dishwasher gave the Ne code
When I turned the dishwasher over I discovered the PS3579323 diverter motor had failed due to a leak around the PS3536016 valve, check. No use replacing the diverter motor without fixing the leak so I turned the machine back over and disassembled the spray arms and top of the pump cover which reveled the case assy and the valve, check. Upon removal of the valve, check I discovered hair wrapped around it which compromised the MO31 packing and caused the leak. I probably could have just cleaned out the hair and reassembled it but because my installation is a bit of a pain I elected to change the case assy (because of a slight depression where the packing sets) the M031 packing, the MO25 valve, check, and the MO35 pump gasket. After that was accomplished I turned the machine upside down and replaced the MO26 diverter motor and reinstalled the dishwasher. End result: Ne code cleared, no leaks and now the dishes are clean on the top shelf and the wife is happy. There are great instruction videos on YouTube. Good luck!

Hummed when start button was pushed.
Safety first, so unplug the dryer. Next remove the two phillips head screws @ lower left and right front corners and take the front panel off. You will have to disconnect the door switch sensor wires which are yellow and white, marking the sensor so you can replace correctly. Next remove the front tumbler assembly with 4 screws, two on each side. Be sure to remove the automatic dry sensor wires. Then remove the belt by either reaching un under the tumbler and releasing the tension or taking the back access panel off w/ 4 screws and releasing the tension. Then once the belt is loose you can remove the tumbler. Then remove 2 screws and take the thermostat cover off. I removed the multi-temp thermostat w/ 2 screws rather than unhooking the wires and I did the same with the thermal fuse. Next remove 1 screw out of the blower housing cover and the 2 screws from the motor support. Once loose you can pull the motor out a little and unhook the wiring. Once out you will need to remove the pulley, blower housing and fan, and replace on new motor and put the new motor on the motor housing. Replace in reverse order and you should be done.

Dishwasher Circulation Motor & Pump Kit with Harness
Before pushing the dishwasher back, I tested the dishwasher with it pulled out from the counter. It was easy to see water was flowing forcefully through the upper tubing now. Success.
Troubleshooting this faulty pump was harder because it was functioning, but it did not have enough force to push the water up to the top rack. I convinced myself that the pump was the problem by plugging the lower rack with a cork. The spray was still too weak to rotate the upper spray arm. I also ruled out the timer with a stop watch. This unit alternates upper and lower racks by pausing either 0.6 seconds or 3 seconds. This controlls a ball that diverts water to the upper or lower rack. Read more...

The dishwasher would not spray to middle or top rack and detergent would not dissolve.
I pulled off the cover inside the sump area. Then pulled the washer out from the counter and turned it on it's side. I took the old pump out and crimped a new wire harness on. It was a simple repair for a DIYer. Before pushing the dishwasher back, I tested the dishwasher with it pulled out from the counter. It was easy to see water was flowing forcefully through the upper tubing now. Success.

The dishwasher would not spray water. It would pump water out and fill just not spray.
I followed the instructions on the Whirlpool site for my model and part (pump and motor assembly). It was a bit hard to get the original assembly out of the dishwasher. They make it look easy but if you look at the dishwasher they are using you will realize that it is brand new. So everything comes apart and goes together smoothly for them. That is not how it happens in reality. I am a woman of average size and had never done any kind of repairs to a dishwasher before. So, it was not easy. I was however able to get it apart and put back together. And now it works!!
