This is a control knob, sometimes known as a valve knob, for a range, oven, or stove. It allows you to control the temperature of the surface burner on your appliance. It is made of plastic and is black in color. This knob accepts a D-shaped shaft. No tools are required for completing this repair. I removed the existing knobs and popped the new ones into their place! It was aggravating that I could not find a local source to purchase replacement knobs, so I was very glad to discover PartSelect. Instead of a $1000 replacement cooktop, I replaced the knobs for less than a tenth the cost.

the part that fits on the stem to turn the knob had broken. I tried to tape it together, but that did not work.
since it was the control knob, all I had to do was to push it right onto the stem, and it was finished. Using the web site to find the correct item was very easy.

My stove top is 30 years old. I was down to one knob. I looked up the part by brand and age. the pictures were accurate and the size dimensions were perfect.
Pulled off the one remaining knob, installed the new ones. One minute and the stove works perfectly.

The control knobs broke over time. So I couldn't control the burners and I tried some uiversal knobs from Lowe's that was a disaster. I ordered the right knobs and they work great.

Heating element for oven broke in two.
Removed the two screws holding the heating element to the back of the oven. Pulled the wires away from the connections of the old element and connected the new element. Reinstalled the screws holding the element to the back of the oven. Easiest repair I've ever done! Replaced the drip pans on the cook top and installed the new clock knobs
