rusty auger tainting ice
  • JoAnn from Argyle, TX

It was so easy! I seldom attempt any household repair because I have a husband that can fix anything, but he was not available. One screwdriver & remove 4 screws attaching the existing front to old auger/bucket. Line up the screw holes on new bucket with old front, put the 4 screws in through those holes tighten screws & I was done.

I watched the video on the PartSelect.com website and decided to give it a try. The replacement of the flapper was even easier than I anticipated! The old flapper was extremely warped and was allowing air into the freezer. I'm not sure how/why it was in that condition but I am happy to report that I have no more ice buildup. Thank you , PartSelect!

Flapper Seal for Ice Cube Chute was Warped and would not close tightly.
  • Gordon from Pittsburgh, PA
  • Really Easy

I followed the instructions on the video presentation, stopping the video each time until I had completed the described step. Only one minor change from the video...my refrigerator door (stainless steel) does not have the plastic edging around the control panel as shown in the video. It took me a minute or two to figure out that I had t o push the tabs on the bottom of the control panel. The rest was easy.

The Ice flapper was warped therefore, it was not closing well. Because of this, the ice dispenser got air in it and the ice cubes would deice causing to make a chunk of ice inside.I went on line, order the part ($5.75 + tax= $12.00) checked Part Select video and did it myself. It really is as seen on the video. It took me less than 10 min utes! I saved $200.00
