PartSelect helped me identify the part, got it in only a few days and I followed the easy to follow video featuring Steve. Awesome!

1. Turned off water near hot water tank 2. Removed back (small section) of the refrigerator, only 7-8 screws. 3. Disconnected the old water hose (comes out easily. 4. Reconnected new water valve 5. Removed back panel. Cut the water lines and replaced the double outlet water valve. The only issue was the long period of time until the water flowed from the outlet. Be prepared to wait, it will take some time for the water to flow.

Simple repair. I first shut off the water supply to the unit. I then removed back cover from lower part of the unit. The water valve is on the lower left side. I began by removing the screw on the bracket that holds the part in place. This screws into the back of the unit. I then disconnect the water line by unscrewing the fitting. Then ... Read more unplugged the two electrical connections in the back of the unit. Lastly, remove the two hoses that plug into the bottom of the the unit. The installation was essentially the reverse of the the removal. The whole process took about ten minutes.

I went on Google to get GE Tech Manual. But really, undid screws for back plate; Dismounted (1 screw) Water Solenoid assembly; disconnected 3 water hoses into solenoid; unplug two power connectors. Then reversed the process with new Water Solenoid...works great!

Removed back lower panel, removed valve, ordered part on internet, cleaned motor and back of fridge. Most time spent was waiting for delivery of ordered part. Part received and installed in 15 minutes after reviewing instructional video included in my email verifying my order, fridge pushed back into place, waited for ice maker to refil ... Instructions are excellent - no modifications. The problem was with determining what was causing the leak. GE, in telephone conversations, kept telling us to run several gallons of water through the system to remedy the problem, and suggesting we change the water filter (MWF). This is the second problem with the refrigerator solved by searching your catalogue and reviewing your demos. I'm afraid you have a customer for life (at least for the life of our GE appliances).

The process would have been fairly intuitive, and the part is designed in such a way that it is impossible to hook anything up to the wrong connecting point. Removed the back bottom panel and removed the one screw holding the water valve on. Removed water connections and replaced with new valve. Ice was made in the first 10 min. However, drinking water was not available for 4 hours to the dispenser.

turn off fridge. disconnect water. take off back panal. disconnect hoses from blue and red part of hose and unscrew old valve. put new valve and reassemble. in case of leak DO CUT HOSE TO ATTEMPT BETTER FIT. learned that one the hard way. those hoses come with the filter holder and are sold as a part. u live, u learn. all better ... I ordered a new solenoid. i took the old one out and put the new one in-- done-- and it works!

Videos for installing the part is really very helpfull.It takes replacing arround less than 30 min. Thanks....
