Removed knob by using screwdriver to pry out plastic retainer. Put new knob on the timer. Took about 5 minutes. The problem was caused by the wearing out of the teeth on the knob.

I removed agitator by pulling it up until it unsnaped.

I removed the old agitator coupling by removing the bolt and pulling up while twisting it.

The new coupling looks different than the old part but fits the same.

I pressed the new coupler on to the agitator shaft, reinstalled bolt and pressed agitator o n the agitator coupler until it snaped into place.

Washer runs like new!

My Washer stopped agitating

Our GE washer stopped agitating. We bought us a Whirlpool Cabrio washer with auto-sensing and an impeller instead of an agitator. My wife couldn't get used to washing clothes with so little water. We found out about PartSelect.com and ordered the part they indicated would probably fix our GE washer ($5.86) - the Agitator Coupling Kit. Ord ered it on Friday, received it by Fed Ex the following Tuesday. It was an easy installation. Our GE is working fine. Took the Whirlpool back to the store, got our $637.00 back.I plan to use PartSelect.com again,if I need to. We don't like the new type washers as well as our 7-1/2 year old GE.

Used this site to find probable problem - stripped teeth on knob - and how to get old knob off using needle nosed pliers to remove clip. So also ordered replacement knob from this site - got it in one day! Took about 2 minutes to put replacement knob on. Most of repair time was figuring out what the problem was.

I researched what could be the problem in the internet and follow the instructions from a GE technician, I chose the problem from a list and followed the video the technician played on how to do it yourself. This time was the lid switch which is found visible under the lid opening usually right middle flush with the opening. When I got th e new lid, only the switch gets bad so I cut the cable enough to replace the old one, pulled out and cut and connected the new one. If there is not enough cable use the spatula to push the clips on the front panel on the top both side about 5 inches from the corner and pull panel out front and now you can see the wires better and make the connection.

I removed the old knob (very easy, used a flathead screwdriver to remove the clip and off it came). Put the new knob and clip on and voila!!!! It worked. My local appliance people wanted over $100.00 for the same part. Definately using Parts Select if issues arise in the future.

We pulled off the bottom cover to access the pump. The washer was on its back and that made it easier to reach. There was two hose clamps to pull off along with the two electrical parts. Very easy to replace.

I ordered the part on Wednesday didn't think we would be washing any clothes until atleast Monday. The pump came on Friday! Installed it 15-25 minutes(that's taking out the old one too) . As someone stated before the only (little) problem was the spring clamps. Screw the pump in first and then put the Clamps on.
