Remove three screws on bottom panel lift up and remove panel. The water pump in right in front. One screw holds it in place and the input and output hoses are on the back side. The hose clamps are a little hard to take off I found that before taking the one screw off the pump remove these two lines.Putting the pump back in secure the pump w ith the one screw. The output line is easy the intake line can be a bit of a more work to get it on because the rubber is so thin.Getting this hose and clamp was tough. Most of all use a wet vac to remove water in washer and vac out the line to drain doing this will be water free during replacing water pump.Run a cycle to make sure the lins do not leak. The other is the people that has posted this replacement are very good

Tear in door seal

  • sean from Palm Coast, FL
  • A Bit Difficult
  • 30 - 60 mins
  • Screw drivers, Socket set
First I removed the retainer ring that holds the outside bellows on the frame of the front washer.
I then pushed the bellows inside of the drum of the washing machine in-order to get to the clamp that holds the bellows on the inside of the drum. To pull the clump I had to use a stubby screwdriver and socket drive to loosen the clam p. Once the clamp is loosen I was able to pull the bellows off, of the drum and out of the washing machine. Installation was the reverse of removal.

Shocks are the #1 recommendation for this problem, but they were not the solution. The problem turned out to be broken weld in the stainless tub. Three of the shocks can be replaced from the front, the one under the motor can only be accessed from the back of the machine, which means it has to be pulled out away from the wall. Taking the old ones out is kind of a pain, they don't twist off easily and there is little room to use tool. Putting the new ones in is easy, they just twist into place.

New baffle would not fit in slots in washer drum. Measuring there is a slight difference in slot openings as compared to new baffles, so was unable to get them inserted. PartSelext very helpful and I'm am to get a credit. Factory to let me know if need to send new baffles back.

New baffles would not fit. PartSelect very helpful to get refund.

New baffles should just slide in but did not. Measuring slots and
connection points on new baffles appear to be a difference preventing
connection.

Door hinge was broken

  • Sara from Brier, WA
  • Really Easy

  • Screw drivers, Socket set
I followed the directions as given in a video from this site, and it was pretty simple. It can be done without power tools, although I used screw driver heads on a drill. The only iffy part was that some of the star-shaped screw heads were shallow and I had to be careful not to strip them. In brief, the fix required removing the door from the machine, unscrewing the inside of the door from the outside, removing the broken hinge, inserting the new hinge, re-aligning the inside and outside of door, screwing it back together, and re-attaching to the machine.

screw arm that connects the two hinge parts broke after 15 years

  • Phyllis from Ridgefield, WA
  • A Bit Difficult
  • 30 - 60 mins
  • Screw drivers
Had difficulty getting the door off the washer because I didn't realize there were two hooks in addition to the two screws that held the door to the washer. I reviewed the repair video several times through out the repair. Probably unscrewed more than I needed. Got the new hinge installed on the door. The problem was I couldn't hold the door at the right angle to get the hooks inserted. The washer is near the wall so I couldn't open it all the way and bending over at an odd angle didn't help. At nearly 80 I don't have the strength I used to!! After trying and with the door falling on my arm I gave up and called a friend. We did have difficulty getting the hooks inserted correctly. I held the door and she got the hooks in. On the good side, the hinge part fit like it should!!

We do not wish to have our repair published. The part itself was perfect and corrected our leaking problem but we did have difficulty with the installation despite detailed instructions. We appreciate a good price for the perfect part!
