SCE4320W Jenn-Air Range - Instructions

Easy as Pie.

Al lI had to do remove the oh swith & attach th e new on & push in place
It took about 5 min. to turn off the electric & to turn it back on.

I pulled down the wire around the glass cover. . . Released on end of the wire from its holder being careful to not let the glass cover drop. Unscrewed the bulb and replaced with replacement. Easy, easy.

First I moved the left rear burner to the right front. No change. Then I moved the burner units from left to right, No change. I guessed it was the control switch and ordered from PartSelect. Turnaround time from PartSelect was excellent.

I located the faulty control switch and then held the new switch, next to it, and turning to proper orientation. I then, one at a time moved the wires to the new switch. After that it was mount the new switch, put the panel back in place and turn on the power.

Removed back of stove - 4 screws on top, 3 underneath. Unplugged wires from element. Removed element - 2 screws in front and 2 in the back. Installed new element, plugged wires back in, reinstalled back panel.

We took the door off, you have to be careful of the hinges popping back. We put small screwdrivers on each side and held the hinges out, this made the door easy to just stand up and slide back on the hinges. The glass replacement was simple just a few screws. Used a multimeter to determine that power was going to the surface burner infinite switch. Then determined that power was not going from the output side of the switch to the burner element. Turned power to range off at the breaker box. Removed eight screws total on range top, four on the cartridge side, two located on back of control p ... Read more late where the downdraft vent is located and two on the double fixed burner side. Raised the range top to gain access to the infinite switch assemblies. Removed to torx head screws retaining the infinite switch and then disconnected the five wires on the bottom one at a time, making sure to replace in the exact location on the new switch. Installed torx screws in the new switch and installed all screws back into range top. Reinstalled cartridge and burners and turned power back on. Tested rear burner and all functioned properly.

I removed the cover plate for the burner switches and verified the wiring on the other switches. I had removed the bad switch a few years ago and I needed to make sure that the wiring was correct. I did not keep the original screws that hold the switch in place, because I destroyed them when I first removed the old switch. The were corrod ... Read more ed from years of cleaning solution. I made new screws from longer wall socket screws by shortening them with a hacksaw. The entire process took about 30 minutes to do, and the results were good. The new switch is smoother than the others, but functions exactly the same.

Took the oven door off hinge. Took door apart pulled off old seal from inside of the inside panel of door. Replaced with new seal.

Decided since the glass was broken I might as well replace the door seal. Getting the door off and on was the most difficult part of the process as the door hinge springs are quite strong. Remove screws on the hinge. Slide door off hinges. The hinges will close rather hard. Remove screws along the outside, then inside. Keep all the screw ... Read more s in some order as they are different sizes. More time to clean the door than actually installing the glass and seal. Re assemble. Trick to getting the door back on is to open the hinge spring to the broil position and place a thin screwdriver in an opening in each to keep in an open position. Slide door down to the srewdriver stop and then fully open. You can then slide the door fully onto the hinge, replace the hinge screws. Easy ,for a simple housewife.

Left door attached to range. Took out all screws on door to get to the door seal. Cleaned parts as I went. Took out old seal and laid new seal in. Had to get two more hands to hold the parts and glass together while screwing it back together. Only hard part was remembering which screws went where. Looks and works like new. So glad ... Had to screw off old terminal block & screw on new one

Followed instructions. Two screws frozen. Unable to loosen. Forced to grind heads off and replace with new screws.

For those with an older Jenn-Air, this range has stood up under the test of time and is still in good condition. We even called Jenn-Air for the parts and they no longer carry the oven door seal for this make. Thank you PartSelect for carrying the seal. My 31 yr. old grandson very carefully took the whole door apart. Took out the broken window and put the new one back in. He was very careful to put every screw back in the original hole. It took him exactly one hour.
