SCA1000DBB03 General Electric Microwave - Instructions
Keep searches simple. Use keywords, e.g. "leaking", "pump", "broken" or "fit".
All power to the microwave went out.
PartSelect had helpful repair instructions on-line which made the repair easier and faster. Unfortunately, there were other problems with the oven that immediately blew the new fuse I had just installed. It was then determined that additional repair would most likely cost almost as much as a new microwave.

Bottom door latch was broken. Microwave was dead.
Read instructions and viewed video. Project would have been very difficult without the instructions and video. Step 1 removed vent grill at top to microwave, by removing two scres. Step 2 removed microwave door by lifting. Step 3 used a one inch plaster knife to separate the plastic interior cover of the door. The video was most helpful. Use the thin blade of the plaster knife to locate snap locations of the plastic cover. Step 4 removed broken latch by applying slight pressure to the outside. Observed the attachment of the 'spring'. Step 5 installed new latch and spring. Step 6 reinstalled interior plastic cover. Step 7 install door. Step 8 install vent cover with two screws. Step 9 test unit.

Replace a broken handle on a GE spacemaker MW
I used a thin flat bar and a painters utility tool to pry the interior 1 1/2" plastic perimeter cover off. This is the most difficult phase of the project. The four corners have heavier duty clips that did not break off and easily were enough to hold the cover in place again after handle installation. Unfortunately the additional 10 to 12 smaller clips mostly broke. Still not a problem. Once this outer ring was off the upper handle screw was accessible, but to get to the lower screw I had to separate the outer door cover and a metal hinge mounted frame. There were (4) small phillips screws to remove and then again another clip removal to separate the last of the door components. FYI- this also required flat bar tools to lever the 6 or 8 heavier plastic clips that also hold the outer door cover and glass frame onto the metal door frame that is attached to the hinges. Once all apart the handle replaced simply and fit well. It went back very easily. Within 2 minutes I had it all back together and the outside wiped off of my fingerprints. The most difficult part was the first phase in trying to carefully remove the 1 1/2" interior plastic perimeter piece. 2nd most difficult was to the last prying required strong hands and might be better completed by (2) people. Other than that- it was a piece of cake.

Just recently fixed and my son broke it a week later...
My son said order it. It came a day later. Very cool. He took the door off and up to his room. No idea what tools except most likely a screwdriver. I asked him how did it go. He said it's good. Nice...

broken door latch assembly (I broke it!)
I had left the door to the microwave open and turned around and hit the door latch assembly with my arm, sanpping off the bottom latch hook. In an effort to take apart the latch assembly it was necessary to take off the door choke cover and in doing so I sanpped a few of the plastic tabs that hold it in place. Undismayed, I then went online, found PartSelect, ordered the replacement parts, received them in three days and in fifteen minutes fixed both of them. The diagrams on the site made it easy to find what I needed and ordering the parts was easy. Thanks PartSelect-my wife is happy again!!!

Microwave handle broke
Remove door from unit. Place on cushioned service. Carefully pry plastic frame on inside of door to expose upper screw hole for handle. To gain access to lower screw hole, the inner metal frame must be removed. First, remove screws holding metal frame to door. Now carefully pry back the plastic tabs on each side. Once tabs are freed, metal frame easily removes. Install new handle, snap metal frame back, reinsert metal screws, then resnap plastic frame into place.

microwave just stopped working
First unplugged the microwave, took top grill off, took control panel off, took wires off and used color coded tape to make sure they went back in right places, took fuse out and replaced it and put every thing back and it all worked fine and to top it off my wife did it all. So it was pretty easy.

Broken Door Handle
No description of repair method with part, or in owner's manual, so I YouTubed the subject. Outer plastic covering was easy to remove by prying off with screwdriver. Be careful not to break clips. Removing door assembly from body was easy- Just lift off of hinges (but you need to remove fan grille at top of microwave first-simple). Removing metal inner door casing to access handle screws was a bit more difficult as you had to remove 6 small screws and then pull the casing from about 8 plastic brackets that hold casing around perimeter. Have to be carefull not to break the brackets. Once that was removed it was easy. With access to door handle screws now visible simply unscrew, remove old handle pieces and reinstall new handle using same screws.

Broken Vent Grille Tabs
First I called General Electric and was told they had the vent grille part and would ship it for $95.00. I then went on line and found the same part number at PartSelect.com. They quoted me a price of $75.00 and I purchased it on line. It arrived within 3 days and had the new vent grille on my G.E. Profile Oven/Microwave within 30 minutes of opening the box. All I did was remove the two screws from the broken grille, removed the grille and put on the new vent grille with only a screwdriver. I highly recommend Parts Select as they exceeded my expectations.
