Identify oven breaker and turn off power before starting. Opened oven door. Removed oven racks. Use 1/4" socket or nut driver to remove the 2 bolts holding heating element mounting bracket at rear base of oven. Carefully pull element out of installation mount to remove the 2 machine screws that attach electrical wires to the heating eleme ... Read more nt. Reattach wires in same order as original element. Then reinstall new element in reverse order of removal. Took all of maybe 15 minutes! Excellent OEM Parts!

1. Turn off power to range and remove element.
2. Remove clips from ceramic guards.
3. Disconnect wiring.
4. Connect wires to new element.
5. Install ceramic guards and clips
6. Attached element to range.
7. Restore power.

took old element out , put new element in.very easy.

It was so simple, I turned off the breker to the oven, unscrewed two screws holding in the element, pulled out until the wire connetion was exposed. I unscrewed those two screws, then placed the replacement part, put the two screws on, pushed back the wiring and insulation.Final step was screwing two screws to hold the unit to the oven ba ... Using a nut driver, I removed the two screws holding the baking element to the firewall of the oven. I then pulled the baking element out exposing the two wires connected to it. I then used the same nutdriver to remove the nuts and detached the old element. I then connected the new element to the wires, pushed the wires inside the firewal ... I couldn't find the oven model number so I just looked at the shapes from partselect.com. This would have been fine except I didn't know my Kenmore model had 4" leads so the one I ordered were only 2". I had to return the first element but the process to do this was FAST and EASY. It took longer to mop and clean behind the oven that hadn't seen the light of day in 10 years.

Flip the circuit breaker going to oven off, then used a 1/4 inch socket on the mounting flange bolts and the bolt head screws attaching the wires. Shut off the power at the circuit breaker, removed the two nuts holding the element to the oven, unscrewed the two screws connected to the wire leads, removed the bad element and reversed the process to replace with the new one.

Removed 4 screw nuts and replaced with new baking element using same 4 screw nuts. Real easy job.

First I turned the power off to the oven/stove at the breaker box in the basement. Then I took the back plate off. Then I removed the two screws holding the wires onto the damaged element. I put the back plate back on, slide the oven back in place and turned the power back on at the breaker and everything worked.

Removed two socket head screws form inside oven rear wall. Pulled element out and disconnected two screws attaching wiring. Replaced with new.

At 76 I no longer do my repairs so I asked my daughter's friend to do it for me.

First observed the situation to determine if I should try and repair. I decided I could and should. Got the element and proceeded. Turned power back on and tested the oven for any problems. Stove is working great.

Easily removed two screws, pulled the wires out of the oven wall, disconnected the old and reconnected the new, pushed it back into the insulation, inserted the screws and tightened them. When I did, the model number ended up as a black smudge on my finger tip. GE's engineers could have come up with a better method of displaying the model number. GE's customer service operator, however, did an excellent job of helping me to ascertain, at least, some of the number.
