I have a GE model PVM917DF1BB microwave. When the door is shut a motor starts running and the interior light comes on. The turntable does not move and it does not heat. There are no indications on control panel that unit is in operation. If I shut the door I can set it to work and cook as usual but when done cooking motor sound stays on as well as light. Turntable stops as it should.

Hello Lee, thank you for contacting us. According to our research, the issue is most probably with the control board, part number PS1018328. Before replacing the control board, we would recommend checking the door switch, part number PS11766871. We hope this solves your problem!
Hello, everything on the microwave works other than no heat. It is only no heat for the microwave. The convection oven portion heat still works. Would this still just be the fuse? Or is it something else. Thank you

Hello Manny, Thank you for the question. If the appliance is powering on, the fuse will be fine. We suggest testing the Diode first with a Multimeter. It should read around 50K Ohms. If the Diode is good, you can test the Magnetron. Take a resistance measurement between each of the magnetron's terminals by touching each probe to one terminal each. Reverse the probes and take a second resistance measurement. Each measurement should read less than one ohm. We hope this helps!
Turned out the issue was easily solved by replacing a single, inexpensive fuse.
First off, UNPLUG THE MICROWAVE.
The fuse is located under the plastic grill at the top of the microwave. It's held on by two screws. Once you've removed the screws and taken off the plastic grill, you go to the right side of the mic
... Read morerowave and remove another screw that holds a small metal grill in place. Removing the small metal grill is probably the toughest part of this repair. You kind of have to rock it back and forth a bit to get it to release. Once that's off, you can get to the fuse. I removed the burnt out one with a pair of needle nose pliers. I also put a small piece of cardboard under the fuse when I did this so I didn't accidentally drop it into the innards of the microwave. I did the same thing when I replaced the new fuse. I then plugged the appliance back in and made sure it worked. Once that was confirmed, I replaced both grills.
Turned of f the circuit breaker to the microwave. Unscrewed the cover (1 screw!) popped out the old bulbs and plugged in the new ones, using the bubblewrap as a handle to be sure my skin didn't touch the light bulbs so the oil from my hands didn't damage or shorten the life of the new bulbs. Turned the circuit back on. That's it!
