plastic frame on microwave is 23 y/o and brittle, cracked and broken in places
  • Mark from Fort myers, FL
  • Easy
  • 1- 2 hours
  • Pliers, Screw drivers
dismantled the door to be sure handle would fit. Had to drill extra holes to re-enforce broken frame parts to metal door components then re-assemble. Parts were very fragile and subject to twisting out of square upon reassmbly. New handle is solid and door closes securely, microwave works fine.

I didn't have a recessed drive or bit
  • Jeanne from Terlton, OK
  • A Bit Difficult
  • 1- 2 hours
  • Nutdriver, Screw drivers
We got a a carbon steel but and drilled out the stews and put in regular screws. We also had trouble getting the cover back on and ended putting 2 more screws on the left side which had none. The installation was the easiest part of the installation.

Blown light bulb
  • Steven from Redmond, WA
  • Easy
  • 30 - 60 mins
  • Screw drivers
You have to remove the cover which in my case was a little more difficult because the unit is wall mounted and has a frame around it. That was the hard part. Once the mounting frame was removed, you can remove the cover and the light bulb is on the top right side of the unit. One screw removes it and the new one pops right in. Put the cas e back on reinstall it in the wall and voila...piece of cake.

Stirrer Drive Belt Broke
  • James from Woodstock, GA
  • Easy
  • 30 - 60 mins
  • Nutdriver, Screw drivers, Socket set
Removed 5 screws on microwave trim and three additional screws on cabinet. Pulled microware part way out to expose broken drive belt on top and replaced with new one. Note: Microwave cabinet caught on connector in back of chasse and pulled it loose. Moderate difficulty in reaching back and reconnecting it. Otherwise an easy job that saved $125 on service call and part was half the cost.
