MW855 Microwave - Instructions

Required that i remove the built in frame and mounting. Required tamper proof socket to remove housing. I removed the old bulb and simply replaced and reverse installed the cabinet.

This microwave is the upper unit in combination with an oven. Microwave portion is Model RM288PXS. Cut power at breaker box. Remove metal frame around 2 sides and top, (5 screws). Read more bottom right back in conrol unit space. Now pull out microwave from frame about 6-8 inches. This provides access to pulleys on the motor and wave disperser. Put on belt. Reverse the above procedure to finalize the repair. This is the 3rd time I have had to replace this belt. They last about 6-7 years. Without the wave disperser , the microwave does not provide even heat.

The hardest part was taking out original light bulb because screws on shield where hard to unscrew after all this years . The old bulb vent out leaving neck in socket. It took narrow electrical pliers to get neck out .The generic appliance bulb did not fit and had aluminum neck ,not recommended for brass sockets in ovens.Putting new ligh ... 1. Unscrewed glass cover on bulb
2. Removed old bulb
3. Screwed in new bulb
4. Replaced glass cover
5. Mixed drink & baked cupcakes

My husband took the plastic cover off and took out old bulb and screwed in the new one. Then put the cover back on.

I pulled down the wire around the glass cover. . . Released on end of the wire from its holder being careful to not let the glass cover drop. Unscrewed the bulb and replaced with replacement. Easy, easy.

My repair went terrible as I was sent the wrong motor 2 times. My stove sat in the middle of my small kitchen for 2 weeks. Finally the 3rd was the correct one except I didn't have the right nut so I waited another day for that to be sent. Everything working good now, I just hope the bottom fan doesn't go out after this experience.

you will a security socket T20. this unit was installed over oven, remove trim cover,remove screws holding unit in place,I used a helper to get the unit out, once out you have to remove all the screws holding the cover on,on two of the corners they use a security hex screw so you need a special socket for that. remove the door latch switc ... Read more h,take your time or you will break tab holding switch in. ask me how I know.but super glued broke piece in place and plugged wire back in.the new latch may have a second pin but look at old one and plug wires in the same way.the light bulb does not screw out so I had to purchase the entire unit.total cost under a $100.00 to do repair.

Pretty easy tear down and assembly once I removed it from cabinet (built in micro)

Remove the housing cover which requires removing 7 screws that hold the cover on. The bulb and the pully's that the belt goes on are visible and the belt is easy to replace as is the bulb.

First off if you are repairing an appliance this old better have some super glue. Many of these parts are no longer available. Once th ... Read more e door is open there are two screws that hold the black plastic trim piece on the inside of the door. Remove them both (Phillips head). The piece will come off. The handle is held to the front of the door by two more Phillips head screws. One at the top and one at the bottom. The handle in the front will not yet come off. There is one more screw that can only be reached by separating the door parts so you can get the screwdriver in. Now the whole handle will come off. Orient the new handle "trigger" so the piston can go through the hole in the handle. Be sure to put the spring on so it goes between the trigger and the handle. Now put the handle back on the door being sure to put the piston through the hole in the handle. It is best to put that screw in the middle back in place first then the others at the top and bottom. Put the plastic trim piece back on the inside and your are done. For what it is worth the trigger that I got is brown and not black like the other trim. Really not much of an issue.
