only a partial refill of water bucket (would then run dry and make pump noise)

my sensor was stuck because of age, so I had to remove the water bucket to pry it out. It is easy to see what you have to remove to get to it. I used the mirror and rachet, extensions, 1/4 socket to remove screws. Tips - Remove the plastic door-inner to help working inside the bin. Also plug the drain because you will drop screws. Ma gnet sockets don't work on stainless steel. Later I found it is much easier to work inside the bin by pulling the entire unit out (shut off water and power, remove lower panel and disconnect drain tube). It sounds hard, but actually is easy. REMOVE THE TOP (4 screws). it stays connected because of wiring, but it allows full access and makes all kinds of repairs easy, especially pump replacement and even the circuit board behind the front panel buttons if you ever get to that point.

BTW Partselect is awesome, I have used a number of times for ice maker and dishwasher. My next project is the washing machine! Always the right part shipped very quickly.

Top grid replaced

My top grid was broken. After removing the old wire and loosening the screws on both ends of the old wire, I carefully unrolled the new wire so there were no kinks. Next, I put one end of the wire in a vice to hold it in place. I put a loop in the other end and attached it to the one end of the frame. You can then hold the grid in both ha nds and put tension on the wire as you make the wraps. When you get to the end, attach it to the grid screw and tighten the screw while maintaining tension. You can then cut the remaining wire and reinstall the grid. I think this was much easier than the directions that came with the wire. Took 5 minutes to install the wire on the grid and 15 to 20 minutes to everything back together and start making ice.

First let me say that the instructional video on your website for this repair was very informative. My son and I watched that before we began the repair. We unplugged the unit first. After removing the back cover, he unplugged the old fan's electrical connection, and then proceeded to remove the fan and bracket from the unit. We then removed the old fan from the bracket, installed the new one and then he reinstalled the new fan and bracket back into the unit. He used the included electric adaptor cable to complete the electrical connection, plugged in the refrigerator briefly to confirm all was well (it was), then replaced the back cover and we were done.

The Condenser Fan Motor was already removed due to searching for the problem. The new fan motor looked different from the original but I felt very comfortable that Part Select had sent me the new part showing original part number changing numbers over the years. Simply placed the fan blades onto the new motor lined up 2 of the holes pla ced screws and tightened then plugged the wire ribbon into the Condensor Fan Motor, plugged in the Refridgerator and it worked beautifully.

The instruction video on the Part Select Web Site made it so incredibly easy to install. Installation took under 3 minutes!

This is the second time for this repair. Seems to occur after cleaning. Make sure you get the right part. Look at the old thermistor for correct model number, they look the same but are different. Turn off machine, unsnap cover plate, unplug old thermistor, remove holding screw with nut driver, replace in reverse order, turn on ice machin e. Next time I clean the machine I may remove the thermistor.

Valve needed replacement - ice had become very thin
1 person found this instruction helpful.
  • Mark from RICHMOND, VA
  • Really Easy
  • Less than 15 mins

Just install the new valve by reversing the process of removing the old valve. Only possible nance is with the quick release hose fittings - the collar is pushed down to release the hose. Also, be sure to FULLY reinsert the hose in the new valve. Best to twist the hose a bit when inserting so it goes through the o-ring inside the valv e. If not fully inserted, it will leak.

Unplugged the fridge first then took the bottom panel off with a 1/4 inch nut driver. Disconnected the wiring & used my ratchet to reach the 3 screws that held the motor. Took me longer to clean the bottom of the fridge then the installation.

ordered a new shut-off valve. arrived in 5 days. installation had to wait a couple more day for i had to order a new compression nut. the reason i had to order a new nut was because the original nut was made of teflon and stripped easily when i tightened it to make a leak proof.joint. the new nut arrived in two days and was installed re adily being that it was made of brass and consequently did not strip when i tightened to make a drip proof joint. finished in approximately twenty minutes' the video that this site has on the internet was of great value.
