condenser fan motor making alot of noise, possibly going out.
  • rex from folsom, CA
  • Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins

A bit of a tight squeeze for my hands, but very basic as I followed the instructions and watched the installation video. I only had the fridge unplugged for about 20 min..The fridge is as quiet, as it was brand new. The only tool I needed was the 1/4 inch socket wrench. A portable lantern was very helpful as well. Runs very quiet now, lik e new! Thx!!!

Recent move and movers broke the light switch on refrigerator side.
  • Carl from Warsaw, MO
  • Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins
  • Screw drivers
Unplugged the refrigerator then removed two vertical screws on the very back back of the control panel (the ones with the washers). Do not remove the four other vertical screws in the panel. The front plastic plate on control panel snaps off and there are two horizontal screws under the plate. Remove them and the control panel will dro p down allowing access to the light switch. Unplug the two wires (one black and one white) from the old switch. Discard the old switch, snap the new one into place and reconnect the two wires. Snap the front plastic plate back into place, plug in the refrigerator and you are done! Problem solved with a new $16.00 switch and saved at least $75.00 or more from an appliance repair call. Thanks Part Select!

our ice maker was not cutting the ice into squares.
  • Scott from Phoenix, AZ
  • Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins
  • Nutdriver
I determined it was the cutter grid because there was a broken wire on the existing one. They have to heat up and cut the ice. I ordered it and the part was at my house in 1 day. The cutter grid part was easy to install. The ice maker is working great now.

My undercounter ice machine grid cutter wire broke
  • Ronnie from Corpus Christi, TX
  • Really Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins
  • Nutdriver
I removed the two screws that hold the shield in front of the grid and put them aside allowing access to the grid. I then removed the two screws that hold the grid in place. I unplugged the connector and then pulled it out. I reversed the process to reassemble and powered up the unit. I now have ice again. This whole process probably took me 15-20 minutes to do the install.

our ice maker stopped working
  • brian from columbus, OH
  • Really Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins
  • Screw drivers
I am the canteen manager at a V.F.W, our ice maker stopped working and I had an appliance technician come in and see what was wrong with it. The technician told me I needed a new compressor costing around $500.00. The next day I pulled out the ice machine and noticed there was condensation dripping on the start relay. I pulled the start r elay from the compressor and saw a lot of corrosion. I then sealed the leek and cleaned the pins on the compressor. I ordered a new $40.00 start relay (which came in no time) and installed it. It works perfect.
Thanks Brian
