PartSelect web page helped me determine the problem and the solution. It took me longer to read the fix-it directions than it did to fix the dishwasher. Just push the part in the hole and twist. When my wife got home she was so impressed that it was fixed and we didn't spend a huge amount to have a repairman come to our house. I got so mu ch prasie that I didn't tell her how easy it was to do the repairs

  • Pliers
I originally ordered the wrong version of the rollers, but the repair department walked me through the proper procedure.

We only needed to clamp on the holder attachment to the rack and secure it with a pair of pliers. Then snap on the wheels and viola!

End of happy story.

Water was leaking from the water inlet assembly prior to the repair.

  • Russell from Boise, ID
  • Easy
  • 30 - 60 mins
  • Screw drivers, Wrench (Adjustable)
Simply followed the instructions that were provided with the part.
Locking the inside vented piece to the outside assembly was difficult because it is located deep along the side of the dishwater (leverage) and I was not sure how much pressure to apply to the part for fear of breaking it. But it did snap into place after several att empts.

the large gasket had completely disintegrated into a soft mushy substance
5 of 5 people found this instruction helpful.
  • Brenda from Charlottesville, VA
  • Really Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins
just pay attention to how the old gasket was installed, then pay close attention to how you remove it from its groove. replace with flat sides and grooves just the same.. I actually left about on third of the old gasket in place until I seated the new gasket to make sure I was doing it correctly. visually divide the gasket gr oove into 2 parts with the dividing line at the top of the groove, place a piece of tape on the new gasket at its middle and begin there, first one side then the other,,, that way there is no stretching to complete the circuit. easy , I am a 62 year old grandmother of 7,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Poor wash - insufficient water in rinse and wash cycles

  • John from Columbia, SC
  • Really Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins

Fairly simple to replace the valve. Water input side was a rubber hose that required pliers to squeeze the ring seal and slide it down the hose. Copper pipe on the output side was attached with a 3/8 compression fitting.

I did need to transfer a brass elbow from the old part to the new one.

water tube had holes and was cracking and the rubber was not soft anymore
6 of 8 people found this instruction helpful.
  • Julie from Northville, MI
  • Really Easy
  • Less than 15 mins
First I tried duct tape until I could figure out how to get the part. I went online and found that part that I thought it was, but I wasn't sure since the tube I had was very stiff and looked like it had a particular shape on each end..the one on the site was just a straight tube. I removed the old part which was easy, it pretty much fell off and then pushed the new one on and it conformed to the ends needed since the rubber was soft. It was so easy and the machine works really well again!

dishwasher was leaking

  • Stan from Manchester, NH

At first I considered replacing the gasket on my own but was not sure If that was the problem. I had a service person come in (at great expense) to tell me it may or may not be the problem but he could order the gasket and replace it. I did it myself.

I removed the old gasket by hand, simply by pulling it out of its track. I s prayed clean water in the track to clean out old soap and debris. I soaked the new part in warm water for a few minutes to soften and lubricate it. I centered the gasket in position and began pushing it into the track with a one inch putty knife, being careful not to damage the rubber. There is a slot along the gasket that will accept a flat tool to push it in. At the corners, I had to use a screwdriver to work around the curves. In a few minutes the gasket was in and no more leaks. It couldn't be easier.

Thermal fuse blew
6 of 9 people found this instruction helpful.
  • Mike from Unionville, CT
  • Easy
  • 30 - 60 mins
  • Pliers, Screw drivers
I had replaced the control board a month or two earlier. Then smelled plastic burning. I noticed the Sta-con connecters in the molex plug had burned - that's what took out the control board. The fuse assembly came with new connectors - so you know this is a known problem with the machine. If you're handy you can buy the thermal fuse f rom Newark for $0.88 and replace it by soldering - but you need to replace the sta-cons. They corrode and the bad connection causes the heat making the thermal trip.
