  • Sherry from SALEM, NY
  • Really Easy
  • 30 - 60 mins
I have always used compactor bags made of paper & plastic. I was sent bags made of only plastic. I called and was told that is the only kind available. I am concerned that the plastic bags may not be strong enough.

I quest I will have to try these all plastic bags. I hope they are strong enough and work properly.

transmission drive belt broken
3 of 4 people found this instruction helpful.
  • Luke from Port Clinton, PA
  • Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins
  • Screw drivers, Socket set
Since the belt broke, I had to put the cogged belt on the large driven pulley first, after loosening the four motor mount screws, and sliding the motor as close to the driven belt as I could. After several tries, I positioned the belt successfully on the driven pulley, then slipped it over the pulley on the motor. I pulled the motor as fa r away from the driven pulley to put proper tension on the belt without being excessive. I snugged the four motor mount bolts, tested the compactor and after a successful run, tightened the bolts on the motor mount. I then replaced the latch assembly, two screws and it was done.

Door latch catch broke
4 of 7 people found this instruction helpful.
  • Raymond from Washington, DC
  • Really Easy
  • Less than 15 mins
  • Pliers
I squeezed the latch catch with a pair of pliers and pushed it in the catch hole. But that was the final repair. There were two "repairs" before that. First, we used two commercial grade rolls of wide plastic tape to tape the dryer door shut each time we used it, for a year, until we ran out of tape. Second, we positioned a chest of dra wers in front of the dryer and wedged a 1" x 4" against the door. Very effective. Then I broke down and ordered the $3 catch.
