The drive wheel had worn teeth
2 of 4 people found this instruction helpful.
  • Tom from West Palm Beach, FL
  • Really Easy
  • Less than 15 mins
  • Screw drivers
The replacement part arrived so swiftly I didn't know what it was until I opened the packet.

The motor drive shaft has two flanges on it that can accept a narrow wrench and the drive wheel can be screwed off clockwise!
Alternatively the drive wheel can be easily prised off and the drive wheel screwed on anti-clockwise thre ad.
Success
Of course if the drive wheel was made of a more durable material this would not have been a problem unfortunately typically american not made to last!

Thanks to everyone before me and their stories!
I felt confident enough to try repairing my blender myself ! ! !
I just placed a flat head screw driver under the coupler and pushed up on the screw driver, 3 or 4 more times around the coupler. It broke away and a metal disc was left, which I unscrewed and I just screwed the new coupler on.
Thanks Again!

coupling on blender dry rotted
1 person found this instruction helpful.
  • Alfaridys from Pt St Lucie, FL
  • Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins
  • Pliers
simply hold the axel with the wire stripper to prevent from rotating. Using the pliers firmly turn old coupling counterclockwise until loose. Once this coupling is totally off you are ready to screw on the new one. Very simple. The most difficult part was finding a tool slim enough to fit between old coupling and base to hold axel fro m spinning. I ordered part on sunday and received it on tuesday. It spared me from throwing away a $120.00 dollar kitchenaide blender.

coupling on blender base had chipped and needed replacing
1 person found this instruction helpful.
  • sylvia from Austin, TX
  • Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins
  • Pliers
I inserted a metal rod in the bottom of the base while I held it sideways to keep the motor from turning and I used pliers to twist the coupling off counterclockwise.
I thought at first I was doing it wrong because it wouldn't nudge so I left it alone. I then read the repair stories again and went back to it and it right came of f. I guess there was a lot of gunk holding it tight.
Of course when the new one came days later it was easy to twist it on. Thank you for all of your stories. They were very informative and encouraging. Without them I'm not sure if I would have attempted it myself.

The coupling for my blender disintegrated
1 person found this instruction helpful.
  • Thomas from Globe, AZ
  • Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins
  • Pliers, Screw drivers
The repair is easy. Just follow the directions that come with the replacement part. And parts select is awesome. I received the parts within a couple of days and fixed it right away.

I will definitely use this company again. The blender was over $120 when I brought it and I did not want to spend that kind of money again. My co st to fix was about $8.00 for the part and $7.00 for shipping. Hmmmm, $15 vs. $120+ sounds like a good deal to me.
Thank you.
