We are living in a rental house. The oven was missing a rack, so I called and ordered one.

I think this does not qualify as a repair. I called and ordered the oven rack, it came in the mail and I put it in the oven. Nothing to it.

Slide range out to access rear. Turn off circuit breaker and/or unplug stove. I did both. Removed four screws on top section on rear of range and CAREFULLY slid out the back plate. Disconnected all wires and plugs from old switch noting locations. Placed wires and plugs on new switch. Removed knob and then two screws from front of old swi tch. Carefully placed new switch in proper location and screwed in the two front screws. CAREFULLY place the back plate in proper location and reattach with four screws. Clean floor and cabinet sides while range is out. Plug in range and/or turn on circuit breaker. Test switch operation and verify Cooking Surface On light only lights when switches are on. Slide range back into place.

I cut the power to the circuit. Removed the burner and then unscrewed the old aluminum plate attached to the range top cover. Opened the topcover to access the wires. I cut the two wires being sure that I left enough length. I then slipped the two new wires with the brass contacts into the new black plastic holder until it locked . Reattached the new metal plate to the range cover, fed the wires through and snapped the new plastic holder into the aluminum plate. Secured wire ends with the ceramic wire nuts. Total time about 30 minutes.
