KBFS20EVBL3 KitchenAid Refrigerator - Instructions

For replacing end cap, LH pantry part:
removed large pantry drawer
removed two small upper pantry drawers
removed glass panel and long braces---all these parts required no tools
used 1/4" nut driver to remove 3 screws from broken end cap, LH pantry part and shook it to release it from the refrigerator

replaced metal drawer arms to new end cap, LH pantry part
attached new end cap, LH panrty part to refigerator and finised by using nut driver on all 3 screws. then replaced other pantry dawers, glass shelf, and pantry cover. EASY!

Took a putty knife and
Removed the old switch removed the spade terminals from the old switch and replaced them on the new switch and just pushed the new switch back in place

First I unplugged the unit, then I popped off the cover to the icemaker electronics. Removed 4 screws, pulled out the broken electronic panel, and replaced with the new one. Returned the screws and cover. The next moring the ice bin was full.

This must have saved me $300, and the inconvernience of waiting around for the repai ... Read more r man. He would have made two trips since he would never have had this part with him.

Ordered new drawer -- fast and easy to find the correct part on this site. I also felt that the price was very reasonable.
Except for one thing, it would have been simple to slide the new drawer in.
The original drawer has a white plastic "face" that is removable.
"Removable" is a relative term. It took my wife and I over 2 ... Read more 0 mins to very carefully remove the face without breaking. One person could not do it --- you need to hold the drawer firmly while another pries the face off carefully. Once off, it was able to be pushed on to the new drawer -- be firm.

This product comes in a bottle with a brush like Liquid Paper. It goes on incredibly easy. A second coat might be needed. I wanted to prevent rust from setting in so I covered the scratches and dings. The paint is a little brighter since my washer is 10 years old but it still looks great.

I ordered a new crisper drawer from PartSelect over the internet one morning at approximately 10:00am, and the product was delivered, non-express delivery, the next day at about 4:pm. Removed back panel. Removed the clip securing the parts with long nose pliers. Unplugged the old, replugged the new. Replaced the clip to secure.

Unfortunately, the capacitor and relay did not fix the loud clicking issue.

(1) Removed the three screws which attached the ice maker to the freezing compartmnet wall in refrigerator; (2) Disconnected the power to the old ice maker; (3) Removed the old ice maker from the freezing compartment of the refrigerator; (4) Took the white front cover off of the old ice maker; (5) Disconnected the wiring harness from ... Read more the old ice maker; (6) Removed the "ice making-stop arm" from the old ice maker; (7) Placed the items taken from old ice maker on to the new ice maker; (8) Reconnected the new ice maker to the power; (9) Placed the new ice maker in the proper position in freezing compartment of refrigerator and replaced the three screws. JOB DONE!

Lower the filter bottom housing to gain access to the filter. Unscrew the filter and install the bypass cap. Secure the lower filter housing to the top assembly.

Old gasket was pulled off with ease. New gasket came folded in-half in cardboard box and was flattened in several places. It was reshaped with ease with the heat from ny wife's hair dryer. Insrallatint took about 5 minutes and seal was perfect. Took less than 15 minutes total.

It is simple, unscrew the old screw in the new one.

Received the union I ordered, then discovered that the tubes were different sizes, so I had the wrong part. I had read elsewhere that it was necessary to trim the two ends of the tubes with a box cutter to stop the leaks - I did this, and the leaking stopped. I was then able to go to a local hardware store and get a 5/16 to 1/4 union and ... Read more replace it. The leaking is stopped, and the water supply in the door is now working like new. No problem with partselect, but I did buy a caliper so that I can check tube diameters if I ever have a similar problem! This is a great site to find instructions - well worth the time to search!

It actually took 1 day and 15 minutes to fix this problem.

I removed the drawers and shelves in the area around the pantry. I carefully took apart the sliders and plastic parts that comprise the endcap/temperature adjuster. Then I tried to replace the unbroken part into the assembly. At that point I realized that something ... Read more was wrong and I had ordered the wrong part. So I cleaned and put the broken part back in the refrigerator to wait for the replacement.

PartSelect customer service person was terrific and had the correct part on the way to my home immediately. I don't know how, but it arrived the NEXT day!

THEN, it took me 15 minutes to unscrew the sliders, endcap and replace both.

The other instructions and the video provided by Parts Direct are pretty good with instructions, but they omit two steps. First, if you have an ice maker, you will need to unplug the connector on the back side of the panel you remove at the back of the refrigerator to access the drain tube. Just unplug it and you can move the removed pa ... Read more nel to the side without disconnecting any of the water lines. Second, the instructions say to just reconnect the "bottom end" of the new p-trap drain to the drain pan at the bottom of the refrigerator. They don't tell you there are two places to connect the new p-trap to the drain pan. The original tube/trough connected to the one at the back of the drain pan on the left (viewed from the rear of the refrigerator). At first, it looks like the new p-trap won't reach to it for the connection, but if you look closer, there is another connector to the right of the original one that the p-trap connects to properly. Replacing the drain trough with the new p-trap was actually pretty easy and would only take about a half hour. Add another half hour to give the refrigerator coils a good cleaning as they will need it now that you can reach them. The real time consumer, 3 to 4 hours, is needed to use a hair dryer to melt and clear the ice from the condenser at the back of the freezer so the water can drain. Just take your time and all the ice will eventually melt and drain out so the new p-trap will work properly.

Removed the top door hinge cover.
Remover the four 12mm hex screws.
Lifted empty door off bottem hinge support.
Removed old door closure.
Put some silicon lub on the new closure and installed.
Reversed the removal steps.
