When the handle broke again, I had to remove the old glue. That part was the most difficult. After that, it was a snap to install the new part. I was a little afraid that I may have ordered the wrong part but there was a 30 day return policy so I went ahead and ordered it. My son was so proud that I had fixed it myself!

Under the microwave there are two light bulbs that light up the top of the oven/range.

  • Very Easy
  • Less than 15 mins

Last week I removed the glass cover that was held in by one screw and removed the burnt out light bulb. I ordered the bulb and left the glass cover off until the bulb arrived. I had to wait until this evening to put the glass cover back on and fasten the screw because I have a window right next to the oven and the sun streaming in made it too difficult for me to see how to put the glass back in and replace the screw.

Broken door handle needed to be replaced

The door handle on the microwave had broken at the bottom fastener, and several glue repair attempts had proved futile over time. After removing the existing handle, I needed to bore the existing hole a little, to remove glue and plastic remnants. So I used a 5/16" drill bit and bored the hole to a depth of about 1/8." Once this was do ne, I used the existing fasteners and attached the new door handle. No movement in the handle when the door is pulled.

Because of it's age and my memory of it's wall installation problems, I was extremely happy to find the parts. Merely popped the old "fried " support bracket out, snapped it the two replacement brackets and I was back in business with a "new" spark free appliance. Thanks ever so much! Smooth, "no brainer" installation! Extremely pleased w ith results!
