I first removed the top of the cooktop, which was 12 screws with a special star shape to them. Then had to pull the igniters out with some pliers (they have a really tight fit). Do not remove the gas line.

Take off the burner racks and burner covers

Gently extract/remove the ignitors from each burner. You may have to use pliers, but be careful. They are ceramic.

Once you pull out the ignitors, you can remove the ignitors from their wires using plyers, you may have to twist them a ... Read more little.

To take off the top - use Star screw drivers to remove the burners

Remove all the burners.

The star screws, and the burners are the only thing holding the top on.

Take off the steel top.

That exposes the ignitor switch assembly.

Make sure you follow the positioning diagram that comes with the new part.

Thats it really.

I removed the gas, because I thought I had to, but you don't need to. You can do the whole job in 30 minutes if you are careful.

A rubber grate foot on my range top had worn out. I pulled the worn foot out and installed the new grate foot with no tools or accessories. Good as new! Now I don't have to worry about the grate scraping my range top and scratching the paint. I also ordered extras so I won't have to wait if another wears out.

Removed the burers using a torx wrench disconnected the spark wire then replaced the spark generator and the wire harness to the gas valves.
Installation went smooth and easy.

determined that the top of the burner was melted and malformed. Repair was simple: lifted off the damaged burner and slipped the new one in place.

Was able to see the exact part with easy to read schematic so I knew I was ordering the right part. Then just switched out the old for the new. Looks like a new cooktop except for the scratches in the stainless, but we are working on that! Thanks!

In order to replace the spark igniter switch and harness, order the appropriate model replacement part for your GE gas model. Turn of the circuit breaker if it is not already in the locked off position. Remove grates, gas covers, knobs and all from the cooktop surface. You will see the part that needs to be replaced to your far right. Unplug it and remove it. Replace and connect the replacement. Reverse the process on opening the stovetop until everything is back in place as before. Flip your circuit breaker back on. Done.

Very simple repair with no tools required. Turn off power to stove. Remove grates, remove burner, pull old Top Burner Spark Electrode up being careful not to jerk it up hard - wiggle if necessary, unplug wire from old electrode, plug wire into new electrode making sure it fits snug - if not, squeeze it closed a little at a time until it f ... Turn power back on and test to make sure it works. It took me all of 15 minutes to change 2 burner spark electrodes. The only bad thing about this repair is that the shipping costs as much as the parts.

I was pretty upset as the grate wobbled, so I went on line and looked for GE Profile parts. To my amazement, I found the little rubber feet quite easily, and within 2 days they were here at my home. I removed the two range grills. Then I removed the two chipped burner caps, and replaced them with the new burner caps. I then replaced the two range grills.
