IM115 Uni Ice Maker - Instructions

instructions were very simple. Took about 10 minutes to replace the unit. Do NOT get excited about immediate ice because it took mine awhile to g et cranked up for full production. Anyone can do this! Saves about $150.00 in labor to have someone(no smarter than you) do it for you.

Unplug refrigerator power cord. Remove ice cube bin. Place wire signal arm in down (off) position. Ice Maker is held in place by two (slotted/hex headed) screws through keyhole slots over the top of Ice maker along the left side of freezer. Use mirror to locate screws then carefully loosen (do not remove) screws with a nut driver or scre ... Read more w driver. Lift Ice maker up and right until it releases from the screw heads. Unplug electrical connection. A flat screw driver may be required to loosen connector. Connect new unit electrical and Install new unit over screw heads and tighten screws. Replace Ice Bin and place wire signal arm in the up (on) position. Reconnect refrigerator power cord. After freezer cools down sufficiently it will start making ice.

Old part threads : made in China (brass) New part : made in Mexico (steel). First, unplugged it from the wall. As for the valve, removed the two screws holding the valve in, disconnected the plug, took the pipe cutter, cut the blue line to the ice maker, cleaned up the cut, pushed that line into the new one and reassembled. Done!

Remove back cover (5 screws )remove valve ( 1 screw ).Disconnect in and out water lines. Disconnect wire on solenoid. Install in reverse. Dont forget to turn off water.

I took 2 screws loose and undone water lines, replaced and reconnected everything. Real easy

I noticed that the two gears weren't meshing together so upon inspection I saw that one of the gears had an inner piece missing making it weak so it kept popping out away from the other great. I ordered the new gear and unscrewed the old one off and put the new one on. So easy. It made Ice beautiful after that

This is the 2nd ice maker replace in the past 20 months. This installation was easier following the experience of the first replacement. The instructions are well written. Installed new fill valve in less than 30 minutes and waited for 24-8 hours for results to no avail. Ice maker mechanism was shot and still would not work. Followed the video instructions posted below the product. Its a tight area to work in but it can be done. It did not immediately start making ice. I waited and waited.... 3 hrs 4 hrs still not filling up or making ice. Finally I decided to pour some water in the tray and see if it would freeze ice and dump it. It did and immediately start ... So dont be alarmed if yours doesnt work immediately and try pouring some water in it if yours doesnt being working within several hrs. I am happy I was able to do this myself and save repair man costs. Its just not work the cost they charge for older appliances.

1st a changed the defrost stat. Waist of time. Realized there was no evaporator above fan. Noticed ice was builing up behind ice maker near fill tube. Found if I shut off ice maker ice wasnt building up on fan. Moved fridge out unplugged fridge unscrewed plastic nut. Turned 90 degrees. Replaced tube locked in place . Screwed nut back on . ... Took front off and found the broken spring, got new one and replaced, now works great. Make sure to unplug as the water can come on and flood the freezer.

first replaced dual solenoid, then ice maker. still not working. going to chase electrical next

Called a repair man. He said it was a a sensor type valve at the bottom back of fridge and he would have to order. He never called us, so we went to website and ordered it. Replaced it.
