Pulled the fridge out of its space. Removed a metal shield which covered the bottom 12" of the fridge with a Philips head screw driver. The water valve is on your right. turned off the water to the supply line. Removed the supply line using an adjustable wrench. Removed the water line gong from the pump into the fridge. It is held on with a "C" clip which can be pulled off with needle-nose pliers. Removed the old pump, held with one Philips head screw. Then installed the new pump, reconnected the lines, replaced the metal shield and turned the water back on. Vacuumed the fridge and its space before cleaning up. The ice-maker now works perfectly.

I was told the mother board went out. Took a few months to finally get one myself after repairman didn't come through. It turned out not to be the motherboard that sears repairman tested it for and said that's what it needed. I found Parts select after going round and round with sears parts refusing to accept return. There prices were be tter, as well as shipping and it came so quick i thought it was over night. The controller assembly was not the problem so we have it for a spare now. It was the freezer fan but even after installing it nothing would work is why we ordered the controller assembly. after 2 days and about 7 hours of checking, taking apart, rechecking assembling by my determined electrician it turned out to be a loose wire. LOL hope this helps someone. I'm just glad to have my fridge again! Blessings!!!

I removed the cover from the rear of the unit, with a screwdriver. Then with a adjustable wrench unscrewed the top nut of the water valve.I then removed the screw holding the valve to the wall of the fridge. Turned the valve upside down and removed the line going up to the ice maker. No tools needed here as it is a quick connect fitting.U se reverse order to install valve.I am 65 years old and if I can do this anyone can. Good luck from TX.

I called LG and followed the instructions given over the phone. The instructions couldn't have been simpler. Disconnect the appliance for several hours and then connect again. I disconnected the appliance overnight, cleaned out the freezer, and reconnected it. Problem solved. Did not need to call a repairman and did not use the clips.

Door latch (cam) at door top broke off from the gasket holder. Gasket was fine so only needed new holder.
  • Dean from Intervale, NH
  • Really Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins

Gasket held in place by plastic bezel. Remove bezel by carefully pulling it toward you. Held in place by plastic clips. May need to pry carefully near clips. Pull gasket away from front edge of door. Gasket holder held by plastic swivel pieces top and bottom. Snap these out. Slide the gasket holder off the gasket. Remove the scre ws and slip the metal rod out of the broken holder. Retain screws, plastic clips, and cam. Slide the rod into new holder adding plastic clips and cam. Replace screws. Slide holder back onto gasket. Snap plastic clips into slots, being careful to bend the springs back so they go into the channel. Replace bezel. See videos on replacing door gaskets.

Broken cam on gasket holder strip on left door
  • Leonard from San Diego, CA
  • Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins
  • Screw drivers
There is a part called a "cam" on my 23cuft french door refrigerator. It is at the top of both doors and works to keep the closed door from popping open when slamming shut the opposite door. Twice in 2 years this cam has broken off of the long plastic strip which is the gasket holder. Both times on the right door. The repair is easy, b ut you have to be careful not to break the plastic pieces. First, you have to remove the trim piece covering the gasket strip (233D in the diagram). It pulls out only one way -- toward the SIDE of the door (rather than inwards towards the fridge). Next, you have to remove the entire gasket around the door; it pulls out very easily. Third, there are 2 plastic hinges which snap into the door frame; to remove it use a screwdriver and gently pry it to the side of the door (rather than towards the center of the fridge or away from it). Frankly, that's the hardest part - taking it all apart without breaking the trim piece. When I first had it repaired under warranty, the repairman brought an extra trim piece (233D) in case he broke it when he removed it. But it simply snaps in place so you should be okay if you are careful when prying it out.

broken plastic supports
  • JASON from GULFPORT, MS
  • Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins
turned it off. took out the old and set the new in place. no tools required but did have to "pop" stuff into place. it was fairly awkward to do. Also would like to have replaced veggie bins They are cracked but these are not available. Only problem was figuring out what to order from the exploded diagram. It is very small on the comput er screen and part numbers are difficult to read even with a magnifying glass

Cam shaft fell off left hand door
  • Kay from Empire, MI
  • Really Easy
  • 30 - 60 mins
I could not figure out from the online manual just what to do or what part to order as the pictures of parts were so small. I had to call the company and explain what happened. You sent the gasket holder that I needed. I had to call my handy man to install. It did not take him toof long to figure out what to do.
