ED20DFXEW01 Whirlpool Refrigerator - Instructions

Removed the 2 screws holding the light bulb shield, then the 4 uolding the metal panel. Unplugged the olw door switch and replaced.
reassembled the pieces.

A repairman wanted to charge me $250 to do what I did in about 20 minutes for about $120.

Removed ice container, replaced end cap that holds Auger shaft that connects to shaft that turns the Auger. End cap plastic nubs wear where it makes contact to the turning stub. Took the old one out and plug the new one in, simply as 1 2 3. Order the part one morning,it was here the next afternoon, the ice maker was fixed in less than a half hour. we will order from you the next time.

Shut off the water supply at the wall then using a 1/4" nut driver I removed the steel and cardboard backing plates from the rear of the refrigerator. Reassembly in reverse order.
The process was very easy and took no longer than 15 minutes and works just like new. This is a good time to do some thorough cleaning around the fan and coils to keep them working properly as well.

take out Ice maker tray, remove three screws holding the ice maker, unplug electrical connector. Replace with new Ice maker,Ice started to fill the tray. ENJOY!!

Reassembled auger assembly to new ice bucket with new screws. Fairly simple and straight forward.

First I turned the water off behind the refrigerator....took the ice maker inlet valve off, put on the new one. As simple as that & it is working beautifully....not only am I a woman but 55 yrs. young too!
With the right part & right tools NOTHING is impossible & I saved myself a repair persons fee!!!

Tried to repair existing valve which I have succesfully done many times by cleaning and removing grit from internal neoprene parts until new parts received. Was not successful. New valve worked perfectly. this is only 2nd repair needed on this ref. since new. 1st was defrost timer. Ice maker hasn't missed a lick since new.

After taking apart the ice maker, the only obvious replacement was the motor assembly. I check various Internet sites and found the best price at PartSelect.

It was not complicated but it took more squeezing and reaching into the narrow space than actually removing three screws and unplugging the electrical harness. pulled cover off back of refrigerater at the water line,shut water off removed water line,check for pressure at the line by puting the line into a 5 gallon bucket it was ok.took the dispencer lines off that goes up to dispencer,hit dispencer switch could hear buzzing at the dispencer unit but no pressure.so i replace water inlet valve

First took all frozen food out and than undid the screws that held back on--than cut the wires that held the piece and replaced it but also found that the plug was frozen so we thawed that out, that is why it took longer. We removed three screws, unplugged the wire and then removed the old ice maker. Installed the new ice maker with the screws, plugged in the wire and shortly after that we had ice! I was nervous about this repair but it was so easy and the part was here in three days.
